McAndrew stiff to miss out on MotM with a 10fa!

Should’ve won it on the fact that McSweeney stitched him up by sending him in as a night watchman with 20 mins left.

Not sure if MoTM is an actual thing though or something the Cricket australia web algorithm spits out?

It must have been a long long time since SA bowled out a tean for under 200 twice in a shield game?

Almost did it against Tasmania at Bellerive last year, they just managed to scrape to 208 in the second innings though

Last time was towards the end of the 2018-19 season, against Queensland at the Gabba. The game Tom Andrews took 6 in the first dig. Still lost though, that absolute hack Feldman taking wickets bowling 115kph at best was particularly embarrassing. Absolute joke bowler

Cheers mate - must admit thought it would probably go back longer than that...

Anyway, good win for south Australia. Some serious soul searching now for NSW, if it wasn't happening already.

Just a theory, but it smacks of what happened to Nathan Adcock. Young talent on the horizon, making his way in 1st class cricket, has the captaincy thrust upon him when he was still cutting his teeth, struggled with the added responsibility. I hope he can work his way out of it.
I reckon it's more that the captaincy exposed their flaws. Too intense & overthinks (Hunt), lack of self belief (Adcock). Things that would have prevented them being top level batsmen in time anyway.

Compare that to Travis Head. Uncomplicated approach, immense self belief. Getting the captaincy young had no detrimental impact, the opposite if anything.

Yuck; only two south Aussie players in the squad for tomorrow’s match. Carder and McGurk hold the spots but not Drew or Nielsen.

And finally wtf is happening with Johnson and his injury? How long does it take to recover from hamstring? Whole season?

I’d pick Nielsen for his batting alone compared to some of the others in the team TBH

Where's the squad?

Squad of 13 v Victoria: Jake Lehmann (C), Nathan McSweeney (VC), Wes Agar, Jordan Buckingham, Jake Carder, Alex Carey (WK), Harry Conway, Brendan Doggett, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Henry Hunt, Ben Manenti, Nathan McAndrew, Liam Scott

Looks like you'll play 5 bowlers with Manenti/McAndrew batting 7/8.

We are more competitive but really should of chased those runs.

Credit to Agar, he has worked alot on his batting. Good runs for Carey in the second innings and Scott made some runs as well. Personally unless he makes runs I wouldn't have Scott in the side.

Im not alone and been saying it for years but despite some early season runs Lehmann is only in the team by name. He is not up to it. Normally that would apply to Neilsen as well.

Tom Cooper mentioned on the coverage the other day that Queensland are chasing McSweeney hard for a return. We’d be royally screwed if he left, probably the best prospect since Head.
Please! We have so little!

You couldn't blame him. It's unlikely a suitable test spot will open up but if it did he is better of with the Bulls.
