Reef has pace, good work rate, he does have agility. Not the leap of AJ probably because given he has been a mid its not something thats been a focus on his game. But he has good hands. Eventually hopefully he will evolve to be a forward-mid though. Similar to what Lippa does.
Reef's leap looks pretty good from a couple of examples in the first practice match. Reading the ball flight and timing the leap is where AJ has shown more. - Speaking of which, Ollie had that at us, but is beginning to look damn scary as he develops - he's hitting marking contests hard and high in the praccy matches.

Not quite ready as we thought. Prob needs some vfl games.

Hey Jen, what has he shown that gave the Club the confidence to give him 2 more years. Or was it what he showed before he got here do you think.

His pre-season has been exceptional to where they thought he would be. Given he hadn't played a lot of footy lately, they have been really happy with his development.
But I also think its to do with the fact they can see the type of player he'll become, they would rather lock him away and not to have to worry about it, and think he is happy not to worry about his contract and focus on his footy.

I thought Ollie had a pretty good game, 1 of their better players. Had 15 disposals, 10 contested, 6 marks, 2 goals (should have been 3 thank you Darcy Moore), and a couple of clearances.

Should have been one. Was lucky that he was targeted of the four Cats players left unmanned for his first goal. The second one should have been a behind to his teammate.

His other opportunity he coughed up by lacking awareness and/or pace.

Looks good on the stat sheet but up there with one of the worst 15 possession two goal games I’ve seen.

Most people with great acceleration also can jump. Just probably needs to work on timing and confidence to leap.

Reef was very good tonight imo its harder to come on as a sub then play from outset.

For the believers in this kids potential… was great to see such a high impact game from Reef

2 goals 1, two tackles inside 50, a mark inside 50 and a goal assist… all from only 38% game time

At the moment that 3rd tall role is his

Johnson mercurial but nowhere near the work rate

Kreuger can’t stay on the park

But still have to slot Ginnivan back in at some point and for team balance reef probably makes way then… especially if they continue to effectively rest Cox up front

He had 1 mark, 1 kick and a goal for a half of footy. Of which was due to him not following his man and being one of 3 loose players deep in his forward 50.

He improved in second half but no where near their better players

I still don’t get why all the talk is that they want McInnes to be a midfielder. Everything I’ve seen from him shows he’s got huge potential as a marking forward.
Might be trying to develop him into another one of those who can rotate through the middle. He is electric up front

I think he's on the De Goey trajectory
