Plus they were all going to be superstars too, so we really did miss out.

Add in 4 years of showing **** all from mid to late first round superstar/bust Jarrad Brander and it’s no surprise the club hasn’t won a flag in 3 seasons..

We basically gave cats the draft capital to replace Kelly with Cameron. I loved Cameron at GWS but he arguably had a worse year this year than Kelly did and Kelly is younger.

we didn’t over pay if we were guaranteed to get A grade performance across an entire career. Fact remains it was only two seasons of exposed form. That form was some of the best form in the competition but that doesn’t make him an A grader.

If West Coast paid a similar amount to trade in Angus Brayshaw in 2018 - he finished third in the Brownlow after all - would we agree we traded in an A grader?

How can you possibly predict if a player is going to be an A grader in the future? His exposed form was elite so that's what his price was, what if next season and he goes back to his 2019 form and gets even better? Then we wouldn't have overpayed by your logic. Fair enough.

Sam Walsh is in his 3rd year and is considered elite.

Kelly was considered A grade by most if not all after his first 2 years.
Doesn't mean he's a champion or will continue that form.

I didn't realise that thing was a perpetual trophy. The clubs keep it for a year and have to pay $30k for a replica if they want one!

Ha yep BF logic, the only first rounders our recruiters have had in the last 6+ years are both likely to be no longer be on the list after this year, but those same recruiters would've definitely nailed the picks we gave Geelong
