Was thinking (dangerous I know). I wonder why the AFL doesn't create a defensive player of the year award like the NBA. We have the coleman for the leading goalkicker and the brownlow for midfielders. Should be a DPOY award IMO ........ I nominate Barrass lol

I doubt they win. I think their gamestyle took a few teams by surprise this year but they've started to be worked out. Their tall forwards are a real problem and the dual intercepting threat of May and Lever are likely to get off the chain. The only thing that might balance that is the weakness of Melbourne's tall forwards vs the strong Freo defence.

I don't want it to happen, but imagine to outcry if Oliver or Petracca do their knee or something, and it's really obvious the condition of the ground is to blame.

Gill comes across for the game and does his acl just walking on the ground. Viney and Walters both go for the same ball at the same time, both slip and knock each other out and have a season ending concussion for both (no long lasting effects) Melbourne to get absolutely dominated but kick 11.1 to freo's 8.19 for a draw with Angus Brawshaw kicking a goal after the siren from 55 from a high tackle from his brother for the draw.

Technically yes but extremely unlikely. Would have to lose all their remaining games and someone like Richmond or the Saints have to win most of their remaining games.
