I have faith the Bombers will completely **** up the next coach selected and even if its not the selection that was so bad to start with...their impatience with not being a dominant force will drive whomever is selected into the ground again pretty quickly.
Their level of entitlement means they just feel as though things should go their way. Woosha said it perfectly when he left.

More trades...new coaches...same old shiite attitude will mean it all comes undone.

Carlton was the same and appears to have eventually learnt.

We seem to go the other way, would rather give a coach a few years too many than too few. It would make us arguably the most desirable destination for a coach, as you're almost guaranteed 10 years and a premiership.

Yeah either way chasing wins in the short term with no 5 year plan is a sure fire way to end up mid table or lower with no clear way forward other than moving a group of people on and replacing them with the impatient group making the noise form the other side of the room who are just as bad if not worse in the management stakes.

I believe Carlton has changed the way they view the club going forward and have moved from the yesteryear approach of "Do you know who we are?".
Essendon haven't and its glorious to watch.

FWIW Clarkson going anywhere is giving me strong Pagan to Carlton or Malthouse to, well also Carlton, vibes.

Premiership coach past their best, I don't think he's going to be the messiah clubs think he will be.

I wouldn’t be giving Carlton too much credit just yet. Yes, Voss might get them back in the finals but might also miss after being 8-2

Rutten also made finals last year and was flavour of the month until the season started and now Essendon are seemingly ready to turf him already

Carlton look to have a better list than Essendon so I wouldn’t expect a drop off next year but if there is expect the pitchforks to come out for Voss

I hope Essendon remain a rabble for a long time to come. Quite possibly the most entitled club in the AFL who still haven't worked out that you cannot take shortcuts or buy your way to success in the modern game.

Difference here is that culturally he’s the best chance at turning some of these basket cases around.

Essendon exist on the fact that they were a dominant force in a local suburban football comp that’s been dead for 30 years. There’s two generations of footy fans that don’t care about Essendon, and soon enough all the old guard journos who remember the hey days will **** off. You can only trade on reputation and entitlement for so long.

Letting Essendon ego stroke themselves to another 20 years without a finals win will be great, but someone like Clarko might actually give them a spine and drag them into the 21st century, regardless of where he’s at tactically.

Just give Dodoro the coaching gig ffs

Depends on the setup.

I think he would succeed at GWS because the talent is there and he wouldn’t have the interference from board level or an impatient supporter base. The AFL will ensure he’s appropriately resourced as well

At North he’d have the same sort of control but with an inferior list and less resources/AFL support. It’d be a harder road there for sure

Essendon he’d be setting himself up to fail. Like Pagan and Malthouse at Carlton, expectations will be unrealistically high and patience limited. Like Carlton, Essendon has a large group of noisy and influential supporters in the background that ooze entitlement and are unable to recognise that it’s not the VFL anymore

Yeah it screams Blight to St Kilda to me.

So wtf is happening at Essendon? Is he gone or not?
If not, how the fk did that get out?
I think it comes down to who the new President is. One of the leading candidates will sack him if they win the Presidency. I suspect it will be sorted today and announced tonight/tomorrow
