Sam Walsh a big chance in the next couple of years, as long as Carlton stay in that 10th-13th sweet zone with no teammates worth a damn to steal votes from him.

Port were underrated all year and got hardly any media time. Wines was dominant, but the last half the season he had an absolute blinder. Polled 16/22 games which is the most ever. Probably one of the best individual seasons in years, and you could probably count on one hand the amount of times he was mentioned in media. AFL.com.au's 'Brownlow Predictor' did even have him in the top 10

A very well deserved Brownlow imo

61 votes in total for WCE, granted from a stinker of a season. Essendon with one more win with 78 votes. St Kilda with the same number of wins with 68 votes in total.

When we lost, we lost bad.

That being said, still baffling how Sheed got 1 vote in that almighty Sydney spanking in Kardinia Park.

Yeah that was bizarre.

Even more bizarre that Yeo got 1 vote in the Rd 23 loss for us. Even Brisbane fans on Twitter are bemused how Nic Nat didn’t get the 3 votes in that game.

Lol at Sheed getting a vote in the Swans game

37 disposals, 6 marks, 5 tackles, 17 contested possessions and 8 clearances. It wasn't his cleanest game but if the umps are as they are and are stat focussed it's a pretty impressive game. Most clearances on ground, most contested possessions on ground, most disposals on ground. It's not like it's some farce he got 1 vote. Sydney were very even across the board in flogging us, no player with more than 3 goals, Outside of Mills (who also took kick outs) the most disposals was 30 etc. etc.

So Dom leads our voting with 13, followed by Kelly with 10, Gaff with 9, Allen with 6... and then JW Medallist and All-Australian Nic Naitanui with just the 5.

Baffling how he continues to be snubbed - same sort of thing happened last year where he wasn't anywhere near the top vote-getters.

You'd think the umpires would have front row seats to view his dominance at stoppages, I can't understand how they somehow don't see his influence.
Called a midfielder's award for a reason I suppose...

I get its a stats based mids award but just can't fathom an Eagles getting a vote in that one

118 to 26

Sydney had the best 20 players on the ground, not only the best 3. No WC player deserved a vote

Also Dom that game

16 turnovers
11 clangers
45% disposal efficiency

Sheed 2nd in the Woosha Medal, 4th in the BigFooty POTY, and polled the most Brownlow votes for the club.

I still maintain that while he finished the year poorly (along with everyone else), he had a solid year overall with very little support.

JJ won a Norm Smith with those kinda stats :p

Right cause the umpires just quickly pull up turnovers, clangers and disposal efficiency before making their votes......

I specifically said if they focus on stats, ie winning the ball it is no shock he got 1 vote. Tom Mitchell mon a ****ing Brownlow with a season of these type of games.

I simply think it's crazy he got a vote in that game. If anything, it shows everything that's wrong with the Brownlow imo

Fwiw, the coaches between them had (at least) 8 players above Sheed that day
