They won the flag by exploiting an interpretation of holding the ball and have been crap since they tightened it up. They have also turned over about half their list since 2016. I just don't rate them.

They could make top 4 off an easy draw but we saw what happened to Brisbane with that last year. Finals tend to sort out the good teams from the pretenders (refer to geelong over the last 9 years).
I actually have their season ending in straight sets on the main board ladder prediction thread so I absolutely agree with you.

And good point re: Geelong. Their Kardinia advantage is huge and its no surprise they finish higher than their skill level and recently get found out in finals.

At the clubs community camp no less, tsk tsk.

Fremantle rookie Leno Thomas has been charged with a drink driving offence after being stopped by police in Kununurra.
Thomas, who was recruited as a Category B rookie via Fremantle’s Next Generation Academy program, had been given permission by the club to stay on over the weekend following Fremantle’s community camp in the Kimberley.

“Whilst only having just joined the club, we value Leno very highly as a part of the Fremantle family and will work closely with him to ensure he is able to uphold the standards expected of both an AFL player as well as the broader community,” football operations manager Peter Bell said.

“We are confident he will learn valuable lessons from this incident.”

Poor decision by the kid but will hopefully learn from the big fine he gets from the club and the law.

In lieu of what happened to Danny Frawley and Dayne's own struggles that gave me chills when I first saw that head line, glad it's nothing serious
Don't really know how serious it is TBH.
It doesn't look great though.

I'm not talking about his injuries.

Relax Guys. Every purple I knew told me Jesse's car ending up on it's roof in a quiet suburban street was not indicative of any issues or impending problems for Hogan. Nothing to see, please move along. :handok:

And so it begins

The bushfire match is for a great cause but this highlights exactly the issue I had with the concept when it was first announced.

It’s a half pregnant SOO game. Sure the Victorian boys get to run out and play for their state and wear the ****ing big v but who exactly are the All-Stars representing

They’ll run out in some non-descript abortion of a jumper designed by some ****head marketing w***er with nothing to play for whilst their opponents get sucked off by the VFL-centric football media prattling on about how good is it seeing the big v in action again

Whats the better alternative for a one off game ?

Yeah divide up the teams into two groups based on nothing but alphabetical order, and pick the best players from each. Not that hard to do
How about we make it four teams

And we give them some bright colours and let the captains pick players

And we... oh shit, let's just go with the All-Stars concept

Isn't that basically what we are getting ?

No, we're getting one State of Origin team and one All-Stars (Non-Victorian) team, which is what's annoying. If they can't do SoO properly (i.e., not just Victoria), then they shouldn't do SoO at all.

All-Australian team v the rest would have been interesting.
