Nah Serong looks legit quality. Banfield was just one of those effective under Lyon typesI remember hearing this about Bailey Banfield not so long ago. Let's wait awhile.

Serong looks good, but his height would be my only question mark. And he made some poor turnovers yesterday which is forgivable in your 3rd or 4th game.Say what you want but Freo did very well in the last draft for a change
Serong is a gun
I've found another purler -
Did not get a single mark for all of July. And has 3 marks for the whole season. Yes, he has 3 marks for ALL OF 2020.
Each to their own. Probably will get AA for his clearances and tap work.
A ruckman? Get AA for their ruckwork? Surely not.
Dean Cox, Brodie Grundy and AFL Fantasy are to blame for this.
People look at the stat sheet now and think that a ruck's played a good game if their disposal and mark numbers are high, the Naitanui vs ROB match up is a prime example of this. People who looked at the game post match saw ROB's high possession numbers and huge fantasy score and thought he had the better of the duel. Reality was ROB picked up a tonne of possession's late in that match when the match was already decided and had zero impact on the game. Naitanui's ruck work and clearances played a big part in why we won that game and ROB was pantsed all day in that regard. Further proof in the pudding for that one was Naitanui ended up with votes from both coaches in that award, ROB received none.
The like of your ROB, Tim English, Stef Martin, Rowan Marshall etc who pick up stats around the ground get lauded as being good rucks, but in the ruck contest which is their primarily role they are poor.
It's what made Cox and Grundy 'unicorns' in the ruck world in recent times, rucks who could pick up stats around the ground but were still good in the actual ruck contest.
But, but...Only 3 marks in July though! And to top off all the salty purple comments about Nic, he wins BOG coaches votes this weekend with a perfect 10.

I haven't read anything that suggests that TBH.Have found it very weird the amount of journos marking down NN for being "inconsistent" this season. He's clearly gone to another level over the last couple of weeks but been outstanding throughout in my books

I got told regularly by Freo fans that I'm not a real fan because all I care about are premierships.
Makes me laugh
Obviously not all freo supporters are numpties, but i've definitely met the ones that you're referring to above. I've also met people who switched to Freo because certain WCE players in the past have burnt them in business, hooked up with their missus, or didn't let them switch lanes driving down the freeway.I’ve been impressed with freo as a team this year. Skills seem greatly improved compared to the last few years. As a club I don’t have that much despise for them, mainly their supporters (which is probably what every supporter of every club says about their opposition) the one that gets me the most, is the, we’re real footy fans cause our team is sh*t, and we go to the games rain hail or shine (despite terrible crowd figures for years) and eagles supporters know nothing about footy because our team wins, and we don’t understand what it’s really like to be a true supporter, cause our team is successful. Makes no sense. But what would I know, I support a winner

Same iam happy when he dosnt fly for a mark these days i actually hope the coaches are telling him not to, unnecessary risks.Nic Nat flying for contested marks is how he ended up with the knee reco's. I'd trade zero marks for the rest of the year for a fit Nic
ACL's are often innocuous looking. I suspect the damage is done prior to the incident in a lot of cases. The proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back, if you will.Weren’t both times he did his knee from a boundary throw in ruck contest?? Definitely was in 2018, can’t fully remember 2016
2016 was an awkward landing from a mark IIRC. I could be wrong. 2018 was innocuous as anything:
Thanks for that.I read it not even an hour ago as part of a mid season report card. Think it was on WAtoday

Personally I love how JLo is Satan incarnate because he hasnt gotten them into Premiership contention after 9 rounds of football in his first season as coach. I remember when Simmo first came in and a few of us were sceptical, but we at least let him have a run. There are numpties over there screaming for their coach to be sacked because he "doesnt have a clue".
You watch: if he gets them playing finals at some point they'll be arguing that he's better than Ross and how clever they were to see his potential early.
To be fair its mostly just the one numpty calling for him to be sacked (Bradesmaen) and there were some on here who wanted Simpson sacked mid way through the round 3 Geelong game in 2018.
that's good news. common sense prevails. imagine getting fired for doing your jobAFL have backpedalled on the Mitch Cleary situation and he's back to work
