I’ve never seen a team get away with more than Richmond! Martin gets 5 more seconds than any other player to get rid of the ball and they flop around like a bunch of fish.

Is there an AFL directive to not pay HTB against Richmond?
Anywho Port could have won that if they could work out how to kick in to their 50. Had most of the play but couldnt do anything with it.

Yep they are a pro outfit, just a hard well drilled team who will do anything to win.
Their forwards offered nothing - absolutely nothing but numerous kicks under no pressure at all inside 50 were pathetic. The game was there to be won.
They were done over big time with HTB but it also showed that old losers are just older. Some of their kids carried them.

I just think Richmond know how to disguise subtly dropping the ball to advantage when they’re getting tackled. All teams drop it but Richmond are very good at disguising it and timing it so it is more like an effective disposal. Their spread from loose ball is unbelievably good so even if they get tackled, they can be confident a team mate will mop up for them. Hardwick is a campaigner but the coaches have done a fantastic job

Any shortfall from Richmond gets made up for by the umpires.
Free kick Hawthorn was a meme but Richmond get looked after on another level.
They are a really good side but the extra bit of nob-glossing gets them home in a lot of close ones.
The deliberate to go 2 kicks in front was appalling.
You can’t rely on Port. They really aren’t that good.

Unfortunately if they win the flag it’ll give more legitimacy to their earlier two flags given they did it in hubs away from the ‘G. They’re a very well drilled side with a superstar in Martin and a whole bunch of solid role players. They’re also a bunch of unlikeable campaigners.
Bear in mind that their flag last year was on the back of 9 of their last 10 games at the MCG. We’d love a run like that at Optus but obviously that’s unlikely to ever happen. I mean we only managed 6 games in a row in this clusterfcuk of a season.

Hopefully Brisbane have two more wins in their tank for season 2020.
As opposed to Hawthorn, where they always seemed to be on the right side of the free kick ledger, it’s the ones that Richmond get away with that frustrate. I mean Port won the free kick count tonight but I’m talking about the last few years in their entirety.
Even when they do concede a free they’re masters at holding onto the ball asking which player to give the ball to in order to allow their defensive zone to set up.
All i know for certain is this. If the AFL continue to just allow the umpires to call play on and not pay incorrect disposal or holding the ball we can have the best team in the league by a mile and we won't get anywhere near a flag as the moment it's a big game / final the whistles get put away and the rules go out the window.
