Commentary have gotten better over the years, but it's still f’ed.

I'm not sure if any posters watch NBA or NFL (or any other sport) but they commentate games perfectly. Just a raft of professional commentators talking about the semantics of the game in front of them. No circle-jerking of the 'melbourne glory days' or browny talking about his concussions. No bruce getting off on Dusty's avoidance of tackles.
The majority aren't commentators, they're cheerleaders.

NRL comes to mind as a better commentated game. I agree with the NFL, but the NBA is not perfect. Mark Jackson is pretty much the BT of NBA commentating but only half as annoying.

Dangerego the leagues biggest narcissist... and that's a breathtaking feat out doing the Fremantle captain.

So for me FU(K Geelong.

I want Richmond to win.

Prediction Tigers by 21.
100% agree. Stuff Geelong, would prefer them to suffer more GF pain. Besides, though I also despise Richmond, they probably deserve a dynasty. Funny to think that they were on the brink of sacking Hardwick at one stage - wish they had ☹
No doubt Tigers fans have hit some pretty obnoxious levels in these parts, but when I worked the G and Etihad 15-ish years ago I had a good time with Tigers fans when they were playing. Maybe it would be less fun now having to deal with them up and about - I'm pretty sure because they had been shit for so long their fans had stopped taking the game so seriously and were happy enough to have a beer, a pie, some banter and watch another Friday night Richmond loss. On top of that I got a couple of good mates who are Tiger fans and I had some great wild nights out back in the days when we unleashed ourselves on the pubs of Richmond (the suburb). So I didn't begrudge them a flag or two, though I was pretty comfortable drawing the line at two for the decade it must be said.

If I went the rest of my life without Geelong winning a flag I wouldn't feel for them or their fans in the slightest and would even feel a little gutted that the streak was broken between 2007 and 2011. That feeling has only grown stronger since Dangerfield joined and became footballs biggest narcissist.

Go Tigers.

Hoping for a meteor impact to occur at the Gabba during play - I'm that enthusiastic.

On a side note - does anyone know what happens should above meteor occur or other event (such as lightning from storms) causes the match to be abandoned?

Is it a case of whoever is in front at the time wins or do they start from scratch again next week?

Depends whether it happens in the first half or second half.

I went to the final between Geelong and Hawthorn when Buddy hurt his knee and the Geelong supporters en masse celebrated and taunted the opposing fans, Tigers fans piss me off but they haven't reached those depths yet.
Probably won't watch it.

So its a choice between a sh*t sandwich and a slightly less smelly sh*t sandwich.
Well if I had to choose it would be the Tigers simply because I dont ever want Dangerfield to win anything, he deserves it.
F*** that, I hope the storm is so bad they have to cancel the game halfway through the second quarter and that piece of mcg turf comes loose and floats away

The only worse possible match up tomorrow would be Richmond and Hawthorn. Richmond going for their third in four years, and Geelong whose previous dynasty ended less than a decade ago. I cant remember a more meh grand final.

If the cats lose this evening, they will have lost 5 flags in the AFL era(‘92, ‘94, ‘95 & ‘08), the most of any team.

The problem with meteorite strikes is that the rules are unclear in case of an extinction-level event. The last dinosaur grand final was never played to a finish.

What a fitting end to a shit stain of a season

I don't know about you guys, but to me it almost feels like a regular Saturday night H&A fixture.
If this is supposed to 'settle the debate' about GF timing, as Gill reckons, I look forward to the continuation of the already-ideal afternoon slot.

Perhaps I'm just venting because I'll probably pass out before half-time. But this NEIPA is so good...
