Report: Jason Gram sacked

BS has told us the news so now just waiting for it to become official. I think this is thread-worthy, but mods merge if you disagree.

Really sad way to see his career end but they obviously feel they have no choice. I'll always remember him for his performance in the grand final, but unfortunately injuries got the better of him and he wasn't able to recapture that form. Like any Saints player that goes I wish him all the best.

EDIT: Confirmed in AT's post below.

I thought his footballing form didn't demand another season, and his time was close to up - he was contracted for 2013 though. I trust the football club has made the correct decision with all the evidence and information at hand.

That 2009 grand final was a great individual effort, he made a name for himself on that big day.

Guess it solves question as to 2nd player we needed to delist! But on serious note very sad way for his career to end, deserved to be remembered better then this.

Sacking him seems a bit harsh but I guess he has had one too many indiscretions.

He has been a good player for us but is probably only borderline best 22 now which probably makes their decision easier. Sad way to end his career though.

Sad to see him go like this, we all remember his fantastic 2009 GF. But especially in light of this from the club -

"St Kilda Football Club has been working with Gram for a number of months on this issue in an attempt to ensure his behaviour appropriately reflected the values shared across the Club and to assist with the management of his personal welfare."

they really had their hands tied on this one. It seems the club has handled it very professionally and sensitively. I doubt we will hear a word of it from the media though.

A strong move by the club. A really sad way for Gram to end his career, but a really bold move by the club. The club are fed up with rubbish, and aren't going to cop it anymore. Good to see that they have really tried to help him out and are going to continue to do so. Thanks for the years Grammy, and I hope he gets his life back on track.

I guess if the club had been working with him for months and had warned him more than once then sacking is appropriate. I guess I just thought this was the first the club had heard of it.

Honestly?

A mish-mash of wishy washy-ness.

Now it's decisive and focused.

I like it.

What was shown today was that the club has been acting sensitively and professionally for the past few months on this issue, with only those close to the club knowing it. But when a story broke, people were lining up to take shots at the club without knowing the full story when the truth was they had done nothing wrong and actually much right on this issue. This (the fact that people presumed the club was at fault) again is the main story for me and says a lot about the knee-jerk reaction of some of our supporters and much of the public (not helped by the media).
