If that was the old supplementary list for the Reserves than Kirk was not allowed to play seniors, he was a reserves top up list player, Different from the rookie list in they usually showed up on match day and were rotated so as not to damage one club to much. I dont have a record of Kirk being drafted prior to 96 so this is my only assumption.
Brad Hodge for the record also did this with Melbourne.
I can guarantee Kirk played as a supplementary player in '96.
In reply to Soph's question about Aaron Bruce he could still be taken as a NSW rookie by the Swans if they wanted and he could also get picked up by any club in the National draft.
There's still hope for Aaron Bruce. BOGs against Sydney certainly wouldn't harm his chances.
least there is hope he can get picked up as a NSW ROOKIE...this is what i want...dont want him 2 have to worry about anything else we just pick him up again
i dont want him 2 go in the draft in fear a club far far away would snatch him up...omg if he went 2 West Coast idd DIE
Skipworth played with the Bendigo Bombers for a couple of years, at least one was under Matthew Knights. So it was not a big surprise that Knights drafted him to Essendon.Jason Porplyzia is one stand-out example of a player rookied, delisted and then picked up again a couple of years later (and in his case by his original club).
Hadyn Skipworth also spent a year (more?) I believe back in the SANFL after being delisted by the Crows and is now playing senior footy with the Bombers.
Given Bruce only just missed being retained, if he keeps carving up the ACTAFL right under the Swans' noses, you'd think they'd at least consider taking him back. With Fossie and Kennelly gone, Leo going, Schmidt suffering another season ending injury, Playfair looking dubious to get onto the field this year, probably at least one of Crouch, MickyO or Hall to retire, not to mention Brabazon and O'Dwyer regressing in their skills, the Swans are likely to be forced to cut quite deep into the list come season's end. Bruce's chances could well hinge on how well Gordon comes along as they are not too dissimilar types of player.
Now that looks promising , 34 touches 4 goalshttp://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7106/newsid/77021/default.aspx

Mal with 4 goals and 34 touches would be pushing for a recall
Currie playing mainly at CHF is interesting and maybe implies he won't be in contention for a senior call in the ruck as Pyke and Orreal seem to be taking the ruck duties.
That is correct Grim. Gee you would think Aaron Bruce was another James Hird.
Bruce is no world beater so why is he being rated so highly, is it because he is so OMGOMG hot.
LOL. I can assure you I am way way past an age where the perceived "hotness" of a 19yo would have any effect on my opinion of whether he can play football.
I just happen to think Bruce can play, that his style of play and combination of attributes are far more suited to the way modern AFL is played than those of a couple of senior listed Swans currently running around in the ACTAFL, and that regardless of whether he was ever going to make the step to senior football, he showed enough last year to earn another year to at least give it a shot.
And based on the form he's shown for Eastlake this year, I reckon that if he were still on the Swans list, he'd probably have earned a senior debut by now given the injuries and lacklustre form of several of the current fringe players.
That is your opinion Liz, but obviously the club has other ideas and you don't find a younger man hot at all. lol.LOL. I can assure you I am way way past an age where the perceived "hotness" of a 19yo would have any effect on my opinion of whether he can play football.
