Your the one making 6 changes, maybe a tad more research

A large amount of Collingwood's goals come from their small players (Medhurst, Lockyer, Didak). They only have 2 key forwards in Anothony (who is in good form) and Cloke (who isnt in good form).

The Swans dont need 3 tall defenders for this game and it would be much better to drop either LRT or Richards so we can bring in someone who can keep their small forwards from ripping us to peices.

haha i cant believe hes still swingin his axe, go runvs, chop, chop, chop,

wots with all the choppin hate brother? got have some faith...:thumbsu:

Its not just bad performances. I really do want to get a bit of game time into the younger players. It is critical for our future that we know if these players are good enough for the AFL.

Lets be honest, our chances of beating Collingwood are not good. I would rather play our young players and lose by 50 points than i would if we played our old players and lost by 30 points.

Plus you never know, Collingwood match up on us extremely well (bettrer than any other team in the competition) so big changes to the team could actually be a advantage.

worry about the present a bit more mate, thats what shapes our future...:thumbsu:

several changes would involve a large number of players with under 10 games of experience into the game

we simply don't have the luxury to let them all get a run now

it has to be a slow gradual process..... which fits in with the clubs philosophy of never bottoming out

you just dont get it

I do get it. Right now our depth is laughable. What would happen if someone like Craig Bolton broke his leg tomorrow and was out for the rest of the season, who would replace him?

Craig Bolton isnt the only one, we have plenty of players who if they go down through injury we have no one to replace them with. Most teams could handle losing their first ruckman (some have even lost 2 this year) but if Jolly went down the Swans would be 100% screwed as we havent put any game time into our developing ruckmen and instead play a KP player as our 2nd ruckman).

I'm a bitterly dissapointed and humbled Tigers fan after yesterday's performance.

The game was very similar to last years GF where you thought that the Tigers could take a strangle hold at some stage of the game but the enthusiastic Swans just wouldn't be bullied into it.

Senior players really stood up and were the main reason for the victory.....Congratulations on a well deserved win.

DOK #9 - Excellent performance, moves well, has a touch of class about him and knows were the goals are. BOG - 9/10

Vespremi #13 -In and out of the game but when it counted he stood up. Again he has a touch of something special about him at this level - 7/10

Luke Ablett #20 - Did alot of the hard bullocking work. He is a gut runner who gave 100% all day. Good game to get some touch back - 8/10

Thornton #27 - Well beaten on the day by Tigers CHF in Kavanagh. Was out marked on several 1 on 1 duels. Not a big enough body for KP for mine and obviously wouldn't be one in the higher grade - 5/10

Brabazon #34 - Works really hard when Swans have the ball and provides the link to many attacks. Needs to work more on defensive side. Did try hard for most of the day. Had a better 2nd half than 1st - 6.5/10

Pyke #38 - Looked OK. Did do some nice ruck work and got his hands on the ball around the ground. Kicked a nice goal from around 35 metres - 6.5/10

Nick Smith #40 - Dont recall mentioning his name that often in the call during the 1st half. Came into it more in the 2nd half. Servicable at best IMO 5/10

O'Dwyer #43 - Everywhere early in the game. Probably BOG in 1st half. Runs hard and has good skills. Very Good game - 8/10

Beanie (and I did refer to him as that on the few occassions he got near it) #44 - Can see it in him peoples. Did a bit of ruck work but barely saw it around the ground. Looks a tad out of his depth from todays performance. Will obviously improve with time but how much time will he get to do so - 3/10

Gilchrist #46 - Very Good and was prominant early on. Has good skills and finds the ball well. Works hard for the side. 7/10

Again well done to your side.

But I can't help but be bitterly dissapointed at the inept performance of Tigers. Particularly in the 1st half.

ABH thank you for the report in depth, particularly when your feeling low from your own teams loss and to give the opposition an in depth report is class :thumbsu: .

Smith was ruled out mid week for the seniors with a quad injury and may not have come up and the difference in the way we've being playing may be Ablett. The young bodies by reports have had issues this year with the physical side of the game and with Ablett with them he may have provided that sort of grunt at contests as well as shown examples.

Keep running at hard in Canberra NOG.

OMG YOU ACTUALLY CALLED HIM BEANIE that is classic seriously if i get down 2 canberra again before the season ends ill shout ya something ha ha ha:thumbsu: how did you actually say it though? But putting that aside im very interested in what you have said...Beans is 205cm tall/tallest at the club and yes i have watched him struggle to get down to the ball but i have also watched him get the ball from the ground it is a very very long way down and can be painful to watch but i think he only goes for the ball if he knows he can get to it...if he cant he lays a tackle instead which idd much rather him work on coz i think he can struggle with his tackling...though you have him a 3/10 he made the bests and as his biggest supporter/critic i think hes developed very well compared to his first year at the club and even his 1st half of the 09 season, Im actually even pretty sure that if they do allow a rookie Elevation after Round 11 for Henry Playfair it will be Jake as i feel the other Two plays on the Rookie list arnt developed enough (Brendans injured & Gillys still too young/small) Also Jake has bulked up and is trying super hard...i become more and more proud of him every day!

As for your comment on Sexy Smith i found this rather interesting
"Servicable" i feel is not right when talking about SS he was probably battling with this injury he has sustained during last rounds match but week in week out Sexy Smith is out BOG and was frequently in the 08 season hes very much a leader for the younger boys and tends to get the older boys up when things are looking Grim...he made 2nd in the bests this week and kicked a goal pretty damn good for someone who is injured...though i guess i didnt see his game im not sure how his work rate was but idd have given him at leasts a 7-8/10

Anyway thankyou so much for your fab report its really awesome to see someone from an opp team (after their team lost) passing/judging comment on our Boys very honest and i agree with all comments above baring a few though im biased lol

Looking forward to seeing the next game against the tigers which is Round 15 back at Dairy Farmers :thumbsu:

ABH well done thanks:thumbsu:

Would you mind doing similiar for any other Swans ressies games you see? Please:)

It is most annoying that decent reports from eye witnesses vary considerably from the published (newspaper) "best lists". They seem to eff up badly ...almost all the time!:(

well this is enough to break my heart but also make me smile at the same time

8:10pmSophie
no trouble love ya cuz

Thanks for the report ABH.

Interesting that your impression was that MOD showed good skills. It's where he tends to let himself down, which can be frustrating because I believe he fundamentally can kick the ball properly - but is usually very inconsistent by foot.

And excellent to hear that DOK wasn't flattered by his 6 goals. He does need to start stringing good games together - at the moment he's up one week and down the next. Last week he was definitely down.

And if having a big strong Ablett body bullocking his way through the Canberra midfield, fantastic. Definitely a win-win!

So do you think DOK can play AFL this season ABH . Tell the truth about the 3am, you wouldn't really stay up to watch no goals being scored.

I set the alarm for 2am mate...Im a mad football/soccer fan. Went to the last WC in Germany and was lucky enough to see Aust V Brazil & Aust V Croatia.

As for DOK. On what I saw yesterday there is nothing to suggest he wont get the opportunity if the form continues if not this year then next.

Given that next season could see a few retirements will only increase his chances.

On the flip side, it was only one game and that was against very dissapointing opposition.
