Ralphy saying decision will be on friday, and if Mini misses out he will leave. Suggests Mini goes Bulldogs to take over from beveridge if they have an underwhelming season
Dogs? Eagles? Dog's chairman said bevo had the full support of the board.
That's usually code for "sacked next week. "
Eagles have done a huge player delist this year. Maybe that's enough.
... it's strange seeing the eagles such a basket case

No players should’ve been involved in the process based on their liking for mini. For X and mini being involved in the final four it’s evidence that it was sabotaged by players and other members within the four walls. The net effect was that it deterred some candidates from applying. I’ve never seen a more amateurish process in my life.
The outcome now is that the club has left us with a 1986 Cox Plate suspense finish between Bonecrusher and Our Waverley Star.
Who will race their way into equine immortality though?

I’ve seen a few mention this, so I’m actually curious as to why players advocating for a candidate they worked with is a problem. Maybe I’m not seeing something that you’re seeing here.

Is it because those in the selection process are expected to be impartial to all the candidates?

yeah i believe your last sentence plays a big part especially considering the length of time he was there. My experience with these methods is that these people look for positives in their long term friend and tend to gloss over their negatives, yet they do the opposite for the challenging candidates. Meaning looking for negatives in the candidates presentations and glossing over the positives.

today is the day surely

tomorrow is a gameday

Tomorrow night is game day.

We have a free run during the day. So could be Friday. I agree though, would be better today.

Travelling to Brisbane today for work and all through the ****ing place is that GC, Hostplus Dimma billboard. **** off man.

In a round about way I think you’re right , while i value Buckley as a complete neutral , cotchin couldnt possibly be objective. Sure engage him when drawing up scope for the role , but evaluating candidates for mine I’m really not certain he’s in a position to be fair to both parties

Oh I see your point. Yeah I get that. It’s possible their decision won’t ultimately involve the players’ inputs, but I understand.

It's difficult for cotch to offer a complete impartial view considering from the start both him and the players have supported Mini.
If the club were keen on an outsider viewpoint then they should've invited someone who doesn't know mini that well. To make it even, the club should ask a melbourne player to be part of the committee lol

Buckley has been involved, he would be a total neutral so impartial you'd think.

They’d be there for clarification and experience. A candidate may have some ideas and Bucks or Cotchin maybe able shed a bit of light on it. “ yeah we have been doing that for awhile and players really respond “ or as a player that sounds like something exciting etc .

apart from being a colonwood campaigner trying to derail our future

Would only be an issue if Cotch was the person solely making the decision or giving the committee advice

But this isn’t the case and they would be fully aware of the context of Cotch’s relationship with Mini and take that into account when weighing up the decision and the recommendations given to them
