Data from footywire. To check the draft order see the thread here.

Footywire says: "While we make every effort to keep up to date with player contracts, it is likely that our data may at times be out of date, incomplete or inaccurate. If you find any player contracts that need updating, please let us know using our brand new contract submission form."

Very interesting how the Tigers play things at seasons end.
Looking like the window is now closed so you would think the draft becomes their priority.
So how do they get back into this year’s super draft ?
If they can trade their 2024 F1, they should move heaven and earth to get a bunch of 2023 picks for it.

There's every chance that the 2024 F1 could be a top 5 pick, so they could end up with 3-4 picks in the Top 30 this year for it. It might need to involve multiple clubs and some hardcore wheeling and dealing, but surely somebody would be putting their hand out for that F1, and other deals could be done?

They are very different players imo, Taranto is a transitional midfielder / Hopper more your traditional midfielder inside/under
The only thing I see similar between them is they're not overly quick players.

I don't think we overpaid for them, maybe contract length wise maybe 5 year deals more suitable?
Take Darcy Parish for example, I think he is going to cost more than Taranto & is probably going to get a similar length contract 6-7 years.
Depends where Essendon end up though. Might just let Darcy go as a free agent at this point.

Taranto should be playing more a mix of forward flank and midfield. Hopper trade a disaster. Competing directly with Prestia who is a better player. Pushing hopper in has turned Prestia into a non factor.

Richmond under no circumstances should trade their future 2024 First Round pick, unless they know they are getting one back somewhere (seems unlikely right now)

Wouldn't mind trading TDK (Richmond need a ruckman badly) for Gibcus, but the Tigers won't be doing that.

Disappointing some of their highly touted kids from the 2021 draft like Sonsie haven't kicked on as expected.

Almost time for Dimma to pull up stumps a Tigerland along with Cotchin, Riewoldt etc at the end of the season and start the rebuild with a fresh voice and young coach that will grow with the team

Richmond are likely going to hold their 2024 F1 pick for a trade, they like many other teams are going to throw their hat into the Ben King stakes whether they get him or not is another story. I wouldn't be surprised if richmond trade their second round pick for multiple picks or to move it for a pick/s in 2024

But they might come good next year ( at least finish between 7th to 10th, so only pick 9 to 12).
Given the uncertainty, they won't get great offers for it I don't think

Early I suppose and glass houses and all but it looks like Richmond have done what the Hawks did with Wingard/JOM, WC with Kelly and Freo with Hogan and Lobb in not recognising when a list is done. Pretty sure the Taranto and Hopper trades will go down the same as those trades and if anything, it's a testament to Geelong in somehow always managing to find a way to stay up and about.

They'll pick it up a bit sometime this year and might even find a way to make the 8 sometime in the next few years but they'll completely bottom out shortly like WC and Hawks.

We really don't. Pretty rare that both your main ruck and backup ruck get injured at the same time and Soldo is back now. Samson Ryan will have had 4 pre-seasons and 20 odd games by this time next season too so will be nearly ready to go if necessary. Gibcus is our biggest great white hope and has the flexibility to play forward or back if required. Not a chance we'd trade him.

With a more serious rebuild looking like it might be needed, and most of their draft capital for 2 years tied up in Taranto/Hopper, perhaps the Tigers will be more keen to let players go to get back into the draft.

Be curious to hear from Tiger fans who they think are 'expendable'; i.e. could still net them an okay pick but would be happy for you to let go.

Last year clubs had interest in all of Soldo, Graham and Ralphsmith. Not sure on the latter two's value, but being a ready to go ruck gives Soldo some value.

Of the older blokes I'd be happy to trade any of Dusty, Grimes, Pickett, Prestia, Broad, McIntosh or Vlastuin for the right price. Dusty/Vlastuin would need to net us a first round pick, Prestia/Broad a second.

None of the younger blokes like Bolton/Balta/Baker should be up for trade at all.

Don't think you'd get any of those picks for those players other than Prestia.

Don't think you need them though

We're missing 1 pick this year.

I think we'll offload a couple of Soldo, Ralphsmith, Cumberland, Graham types and try come up with a package for GCs 1st pick. I wouldn't be surprised if we try trade our future 1st for a 1st this year either.

You probably don't need Soldo so maybe you could throw him out there but not sure you'll win the trade given the value of rucks at the trade table.

But trading Ralphsmith or Cumberland seems like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

I wouldn't over react, they've drafted a lot of kids in the last few years. Just give them a shot

They might not have much choice other than to try the kids they already have.
It’s the usual story re trading :
They’ll have to lose quality players if they want quality picks and garner nothing much for most of the rest …

Soldo would have value. He's one of the best backup rucks in the league.

We have a heap of your flankers so Ralphmsith wouldn't be overly missed. Cumberland...meh

That's usually how it works when you select players. You bring players into the list then you play them.

Soldo is quite good but just rucks in general don't seem to have value outside of a couple of elite types. Maybe Soldo ends up being an exception? Wouldn't say no to him at the cats given our rucks are either kids or geriatrics

Yeah, Sokdo is a solid 1st ruck though he offers little around the ground …. Second round pick for sure

Soldo would be good for the cats. Premiership ruckman, only 27. I think he'd be silly if he didn't look elsewhere. He wont ever play ahead of Nank and Samson Ryan is the heir apparent.

Obviously Grundy will be in demand but sounds like it'll be dees or port. Probably leaves Soldo then jordan sweet next in line.

Soldo would be a wise move but the rumour is that we're targeting lycett in what would seem an unwise move
