Swap Baker for Duggan and ask yourself if you're making that trade. If so, I'd like to offer you Duggan + 26 for 11.
I have seen you post this example a few times and can understand why and how you feel but you need to chill
The difference between Duggan & Baker is We dont want Duggan and have not chased him
3 teams wanted and had offers for baker on big money and the eagles had the biggest offer and have won his selection as his next club.

1 player is in demand the other is not so thats why the eagles will pay up the deal will get done
Pretty sure no eagles supporter will be happy and most likely some Richmond supporters will be dissapointed
most eagles supporters feel pick #23 is fine due to the state of your list and most Richmond supporters feel #14 which will be #17 is fine but end of the day there could be a spud at #14 and a gun at #23 its 9 spot difference but it is what it is

Its only a game

Baker is OOC. 23 or a marginal pick upgrade probably gets it done.

LOL Adam Cooney trying to make sure we remain at the bottom for another 37 years

View attachment 2127758

Reckon he must have a Bigfooty account.
Anytime I see or hear Cooney I instantly change channel. I don’t think there is anyone else in the footy media as stupid as Cooney.

Are the Richmond player trades dependent on one another going through or are they totally separate

All 3 are separate but they will all be fascinating to see the outcomes.

I doubt the Baker trade would be reliant on our other trades #14 with something going back is predicted
Bolton is totally independent and looking like 2/3 of freo's 1st rounders
Rioli is pretty much straight out for #6 and if there is an extra like #23 or #29 we have enough junk to give back
Brisbane 1st rounder is basically for later picks

The only trades that would have to wait or held up would be upgrading picks

Blair Hartley could just about take the week off and rock up the last day

Which one you think falls first

From afar it looks like the Rioli one seems the most advanced
Probably Rioli would be my guess then the Bolton deal if that actually goes through as it looks like we are a fair way out and Blair seems to have his war face on

Does Richmond want any players this off season. If stringer goes to gws, does Riccardi have any appeal?

Perhaps Riccardi, 15 for 10 or something like that?

Tinfoil hat on here, got a theory that discussions were had on increasing Graham's salary to get him to band 2 or 3 but West Coast and us decided to just leave it be and for them to rate him what they think he is worth. Eagles knowing they are getting Hawks first rounder and rate Baker at that level so happy to give it up and not commit too much salary cap to a guy like Graham. They probably wanted to keep as much cap space as possible for some future targets.

On one hand I'm surprised to see you guys at the bottom, on the other hand your recruiters have been awful recently from my PoV, it happened to my club soon after success and happened a little more harshly sooner to you guys, I was curious about your list and it needs some work imo, I think this 22 and new recruits are where you should focus on imo (Blight over Miller as your big key back imo)

B: Nick Vlastuin, Jacob Blight, Jayden Short
HB: Nathan Broad, Noah Balta, Sam Banks
C: Hugo Ralphsmith, Jacob Hopper, Rhyan Marshall
HF: Tim Taranto, Mykelfi Lefau, Steely Green
F: Maurice Rioli, Tom Lynch, Jacob Bauer
R: Toby Nankervis, Dion Prestia, Jack Ross
INT: Thomas Dow, Seth Campbell, Kaleb Smith, Judson Clarke

Others - Josh Gibcus(if he gets healthy), McAuliffe(could play a role), McIntosh (role), Ryan (backup ruck/forw), Miller (backup kpd) Koschitzke (back up kpf)

FOS or Lalor could take a midfield spot, Lalor could play forw if needed, you need goal kicking power so Lalor could be a better option, Joe Berry could also be an option later?, playing Taranto forward gets you goals and minimises turnover in the midfield-half forw rebound zone at the expense of accumulation, just a few thoughts.

People actually mentioning Richmond going full North with our rebuild but seeing the team its actually a good way to look at the experience still on the list.

Whilst there is not a lot the quality of leaders is strong and still have 2-5 years in most with only Prestia and McIntosh perhaps 1 year remaining.

What it also shows is another 10 kids that are only 1-3 years in the system that we can expect improvement from that have shown signs.

But you are correct and our drafting has been extremely bad between 2016 - 2021
Im expecting to be last in 2025 and probably 2026 with 2-3 wins a season max but luckily we should have another 15 top 20 kids on the list by the time tassie take all the picks

The main reason we fell off the cliff this year was the decimation of the ranks through injury, combine that with natural attrition and it's no wonder we ended up on the bottom, although it's fair to be said that we were competitive in a lot of games. Add in a new coach and game plan and the recipe was there.

We had a completely non functioning forward line with our 1st tier players missing then a wipeout of our 2nd tier. We were forced to play Brown and McIntosh as the 2nd KPF's behind Koschitzke of all people, we played Balta forward which, along with the loss of Gibcus made us short on quality talls down back. Having to play Dow alongside McAulliffe as our main mids for a lot of the season wasn't ideal.

If we can maintain a reasonable spine of Balta, Gibcus, Hopper, Prestia, LeFau and Lynch along with Prestia and Nank that'll go a long way in keeping us competitive. Bauer is showing signs as an effective 3rd tall with Gray as the backup. Wingers are ok with HRS, Ross and Clarke with McIntosh as backup. Mansell and Rioli are serviceable as goal kicking/pressure forwards.

As far as needs go, the midfield is the greatest concern, we are very 1 paced and are crying out for strength, speed and class around the stoppages. A speedy ball user and line breaker off half back to replace Rioli would be next. Ryan as our back up ruck/KPF (Kosi doesn't count) means we're very thin in that area.

Realistically, talent all over the ground is needed. I'm no draft watcher and can only go on the snippets I see and the little quality info out there. So as a list of preferences....

FOS---all round talent, both inside and outside, Pick 1
Lalor----strength around the contest and a threat up forward, Pick 3
Langford-----Mid/Fwd, Pick 6
Travaglia----Pick 10 (probably gone) Maybe Lindsay?
Berry/Hotton------Pick 14
Oliver----Pick 20
Gerreyn---Pick 23

In the past the Mantra has been 'Draft for talent, trade for needs' might be a little different this year where we can focus a little more on positional needs given the amount of picks that might/will come our way
