Well yeah, but still was just thinking how they're the two teams who drew criticism last year for celebrating in a draw.

Yeah Sydney has had draws last two years as well, so hopefully we steer clear this year. Before then hadn't had one since 2002 I believe.

Somebody has to pick up the slack for Freo. They've never played in a draw.

BTW this has happened several times in the past, e.g. Brisbane 1996-98. Geelong holds the record for consecutive seasons with one draw every year between 1960-64.

You guys should be happy that you have a code of football that has so few draws in regulation - gridiron and ice hockey are mired with horrible overtime systems just to find a "winner," even if the resulting overtime no longer represents actual football/hockey.

Enjoy the novelty of a draw (it's better than a loss, after all)...you don't want to be an American sports fan, after all (or NRL for that matter).

no mention of "draw ball" (Soccer)?

Draws are WORSE than losses, because you get that frustration of 'if only that had gone through for a goal instead of a point' or 'if only we hadn't rushed (less likely these days) that point'. It tortures you because you think about how close you came to victory.

Anyone know the umpire who made the decision on Hale ? Was it number 6 ? Didnt see the match and only vision i have is blury.

NFL style overtime would work fine for the AFL - the problem is with time-outs and various time management techniques in the NFL.

Nothing is more predictable than talk of a "push for overtime" in the week following a draw in the AFL. Most of those that want it are the same people who whinge every second week about the constant changing of rules.

SEN are prime offenders on this.

It happens once or twice a season ffs. Just leave it as it is.

i always think about that, when a team loses by like 10 points or so . if these 2 players kicked the goal instead of a behind, we may have won it.
like carl vs haw, it wasnt fevola that cost carlon, it was the other set shots they missed
