Nick Vlastuin defender priced at a 75 average. Has been great in the middle when given the chance and if he moves in there full time could eaaasily be a top 10 defender this year. Only in 1.9% of teams atm, betting that will change after JLT

"only" :D

Nah you're right, I think he will be top 10-15 mids so he's not a bad pick but when guys like Rocky and Selwood are 15k more expensive it's probably not wise

Martin will be a top 10 mid I reckon, but I reckon there are quite a few cheaper options to make some money off before trading him in later.

Don't think Rocky is worth it to be honest, and Selwood may suffer from the loss of Caddy. I'd say Dusty is probably a safer option than both at this point.

Rocky is just about always worth it tbh.

Injury history is a big factor with rocky.

Thing with Rocky is he is absolute top bracket in terms of scoring potential, it's just fitness that is the worry. All reports seems to suggest he has got his act together and is looking easily the best he ever has physically, that's enough for me to take a bit of a chance on him I think

You get 2 every week in SC, and 3 during the bye rounds.

Yes but you have a limit for the season, 0 limit in fantasy 2 every week and you never run out of trades.

Injury history is a big factor with rocky.

True, but when he isn't injured you have to have him. He is the fantasy pig.

He's a lock for me.

Thoughts on Fyfe, Roughead, McCarthy and Heeney?

Thoughts on Fyfe, Roughead, McCarthy and Heeney?

Fyfe is a curious one and it all depends on his starting price. Heeney might go alright, but just wont get enough time outside the forward line so relies heavily on scoring goals.

Roughhead was never a proven scorer, it's a pass from me. McCarthy I'd steer clear from too.

Thoughts on Fyfe, Roughead, McCarthy and Heeney?
Fyfe- Lock him in, fit as a fiddle from all reports and top 3 for scoring potential. Injury wasn't soft tissue or anything like that
Roughead- I'll probably pick him if he plays 1 or 2 preseason games and lines up round 1. Looks in pretty good nick all things considered, smashed their intra club last week. Given how shallow the forwards are this year, if he gets anywhere near past levels this year he's an absolute bargain. (adding to Cayz's comment, IS a proven scorer in supercoach)
McCarthy- He's essentially an expensive rookie and whilst his JS is pretty good won't average enough to make decent coin you would think. Have to remember that the guys who are 200k have to average quite a bit higher to make the same amount of money. Last resort type if there doesn't look like many rookie forwards are going to play
Heeney- All depends on his role, he's an absolute star but depends on how many mid minutes he gets given. Given that they have a bunch of forward injuries going into the start of the season he might have to play there a bit more to start with. Might be an upgrade target for me

Yeah sorry, I should have added that I only speak fantasy :p. I won't pretend to have any nous in the supercoach area.

Yeh big guys like Roughy is where you start to see a real difference in the scores, which is part of the reason why I switched over to supercoach a few years ago. Roughy is an absolute star and his scores should reflect that

What are people going for POD wise this year?
My main gambles are;
Josh Kelly
Jack Viney

I've also got Dusty but he isn't a gamble.

Viney could be a good shout, Kelly whilst an incredible player might struggle for points given his outside role and the fact he will be playing alongside 21 genuine guns, only so many points to go around (in supercoach at least)

My big one is Vlastuin actually, maybe a bit biased but in my mind should go 90+ if he gets good mid time which is a great result for his price as a defender. Has scored very well in the middle when given the chance

Agree that Vlastuin is a great POD, especially amongst the SC general public.... but I'd suggest most tiger supporters would have him.

The one I think is a great POD at value is Steve Motlop. Last year he came back looking like a turtle and played according... 12 months on he's flying.

I'm also running with Vlastuin. If he remains in that mid role he will rack up the points.

Hi guys,

This question will probably be asked over and over and over again, so might as well answer it once and for all to save trouble :D

How much time will Vlaustuin and Caddy get in the midfield? Vlaustin 60-40 Mid-def, Caddy 80-20 Mid-Fwd?

Also do you see Rance improving from last year?

Thanks

Thanks
vlaus 60-40 DEF-MID
Caddy 70-30 MID-FWD as mids need more rest-time than other areas of the ground

sure, why not? give him some better support and the sky's the limit for rancey

Contrary to the above post I don't see Vlastuin heading back into the backline this year unless we are ravaged with injuries.
