What's Richmond got to put on the trade table? I'd be thrilled to see Martin or Riewoldt in a Melbourne jumper

What the hell could they offer?
There first round pick on its own wouldnt do it for me, i would want a Nahas or something thrown in with maybe a later pick heading back their way?? And they wont be trading any of there valuable midfielders etc, if they want a player like Gawn then they will be paying

Exactly- which is part of the reason why he won't go anywhere. The other (key) part is he is very happy at the Dees!

And any one of those would be rightly laughed at by Tigers fans.
Even if Max was receptive to the idea of moving (which he isn't) a deal simply couldn't be done. Richmond don't have anyone they would be willing to trade that Melbourne would accept. Gawn is hugely rated internally so any trade would need to be huge overs.
Won't happen.

I remember listening to the draft down at the cricket club. I was huddling over the radio with a Richmond mate. We had a pick 1 before them every round.
I was gunning for Gawn as low as pick 12. We both wanted him. I hadn't heard of Gysberts. When Tapscott was read out at 20 I was further disappointed but had heard good things about Tapscott so it wasn't too bad. Then big Maxy came out on the 30s! Needless to say, the first response from my Richmond teammate was "pfft, he's shit anyway".

Yeah, i was surprised he went that low. But he was coming off a knee reco right? With that injury and his size, it was a gamble to take him with a high pick. He's showing great signs already, and his knee appears to be ok. Could end up being a steal if he delivers anything near his potential. Certainly won't be going anywhere. How good has that draft been for us! Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, Tappscott, Gawn and Fitz
All of a sudden our ruck stocks are looking strong, with Jamar and Gawn and the emergence of Stef Martin this season.

I wanted Vardy but I wasn't unhappy with Gawn. I also wanted Talia over Gysberts.
As others have mentioned, though, that draft has been a massive win for us.

Imagine if Fitz works out!!!!
He's certainly got some size about him now and moves well for someone so big. His kicking still needs work, and has been a bit injury prone, but I feel the club thinks he can be that Dawes type for us in the next couple of years. Can fill in with ruck duties also if required, so could potentially be a really handy player. Hopefully he can stay on the park and show some form. Would make an already amazing draft even better for us if he does!

Hows Talia tracking for the Crows? Haven't heard his name mentioned much this season. I was a big wrap for him also. Happy we took Gysberts of course, but still rate this kid...

A 105kg monster? I havent seen Fitzy in a while but he didn't look likely to be that big last time I saw him!
Big wraps, debuted 2 weeks ago i think, still wouldnt give up Gysberts at this stage, is the kind of defender we are still lacking imo though

I've got the perfect solution. Richmond want a 'ruck-forward' ; well then can have Juice Newton LOL. In return, I'd be very fair. Wouldn't ask for Martin or Deledio; I'd happily take Jake King (sorry, but we need someone with his kind of fight, it'd be great for the kids to see that 'pretty' isn't always enough) or Reece Conca. Hell, if they would give us either of those guys I'd happily throw in Matthew Bate and a set of deck chairs.
