Broad prob on limited minutes as well, so would expect he will play round 1 and Young won't. Miller hasn't been training as a defender, surely he's not good enough to just get thrown back now, if he's going to make it as a defender he needs to be there fulltime.
Agree, Miller has played his best footy as the 2nd ruck. IMO he has never looked like a gun key back, he can do a job if asked on a no.2 or no.3 big, but from what I have seen if he's going to be best 22 week in week out it's going to be as a 2nd ruck.

Ryan still unproven but I can cop him being the no.2 if the match committee thinks he is a better fit but I think we've seen Soldo unfortunately offers very little outside the center bounce. Soldo needs to be the no.1 ruck to be effective and he isn't playing ahead of Nank in that role barring injury (touch wood)

The only other thing worth considering is maybe we are planning to tackle Melbourne with the Nank/Soldo combo during the season and the coaches want to try it out in the practice match. I'd say this unlikely given it's only a praccy and surely our priority is having our round 1 best 22 ready to go rather than worrying about our round 5 opponent. But I suppose that could be another explanation for Soldo over Miller.

Soldo has done alright against these 2 hipsters before. He should be able to get inside their cardigan and toil with their nipple piercings.
Flag years he was often brought in to play against these two Rastafarian’s

Melbourne will be without vice-captain Jack Viney due to a knee injury, while Christian Salem (hemorrhoid) and Bayley Fritsch (foot) both remain sidelined.

Do they normally disclose this much detail? FMD.
