After losing their first two practice games by a combined margin of 18 points to Collingwood and North Melbourne, the Tigers will return to the Swinburne Centre on Saturday morning to take on the Hawks.

Ten AFL-listed players have been named in Saturday’s squad, including Hugo Ralphsmith, Judson Clarke, Matthew Coulthard, Kane McAuliffe, James Trezise, Mykelti Lefau, Ben Miller, Steely Green, Kaleb Smith and Oliver Hayes-Brown.

What I don’t get about team selection for tomorrow was for the last game last year when finals were done we dropped McIntosh and Pickett presumably as a signal we had to move on from them and find better. Both selected. Have we decided we haven’t got anyone better?

IMO we're playing a few of the older guys, that may be deemed as past it, so that we're not just throwing the kids to the wolves so to speak. We've got 7 players with under 30 games in the side tomorrow so we need some sort of leadership around. The last thing we'd want to do is enter the slippery slope that is just loading up with kids and finding ourselves in a rut that becomes harder and harder to climb out from.

I believe that Yze knows exactly where we're at and believes that the quicker he gets answers about those we don't know about, the quicker he'll be able to make the necessary changes that get us back to the top sooner rather than later.
