History says you would be wrong. Let's just enjoy the season and see what pans out, its only RD 2

Good call and really after 3 premierships in 5 years we should be able to do that. This group owes supporters nothing, it’s been an amazing ride and if our bubble has burst (and not saying it has) then look forward to watching the next generation develop.
You start putting the building blocks in place now, get games into players, bring in players like we did at the end of 2016 and before you know it we are ready to go again.

spot on......don't repeat last year, when the battered players thought they were right to play. they're always going to think that.....

The lesser team for tomorrow is the better team going forwards. We are not in top 4 contention and TBO we are about bottom 5 - 10 ATM. about where we finished last year. I see no signs of it being anything different - (just as I saw it last year - when people thought we were making the eight).

They have railroaded Riley.
Riley "Railroaded" Collier Dawkins.
Thought he would be a dead cert to make the grade.

If we bring the heat we might only go down by a couple of goals but if we turn off the controller (ie. Geelong, Collingwood 2021 and Carlton Q4 last week) this is gonna get absolutely brutal

Yea unfortunately I get the impression he isn’t rated , not even emerg ,,heck Rioli is who I would have thought iswell down the queue ,,,what would I know

As mentioned by other posters, he isn’t fit enough at the moment, due to multiple interruptions throughout the preseason.

Not picking on you Bo but it has to be said again for about the one hundredth time over the last few weeks, Riley missed about a three week block of hard training just before the start of the season after either having Covid or being a close contact and not being able to train.

Then when he came back to the club he played in the first intra club and played a ripper first quarter (2 goals including running from deep in defence and being involved in a chain of possessions before running all the way forward and kicking a great goal) but then getting smashed (pretty sure it was that same game, I think by Parker) which resulted in either cracked or bruised ribs. Cracked ribs, as anyone who has had them will know are excruciating and take time to recover. Running and breathing aren't fun let alone body contact.

The club then said Riley wouldn't be up for selection as they tried to get him back up to match fitness in the twos for at least a few games. It was also reported that last week he played with thick padding around his chest (leading some morons to comment that he looked fat and wasn't moving well - nfk !)

So, he will play full games in the VFL for a few weeks to get some miles in his legs and then, I'm sure he'll come into consideration. I may have the sequence of events slightly wrong as it's a month ago now but that's basically why Riley isn't even an emergency.

This should be pinned somewhere

You went into last year thinking wed miss the 8?

our mids will get slaughtered
Nah, Ross to be BOG and get 30+ and a couple of snags. Pickett will get a run in there and take a couple of players out. Flash Hands Dow will distribute everything to open players and carve them up. Parker to... Kamdyn's back!
Miller and Gibcus will mark and/or repel every forward foray from the AFL GWS Giants.
Balta will kick a bag, in the change rooms after the game, to celebrate all the goals he kicked (a lot of goals).
We literally cannot lose this game.

Not this early...but the writing on the wall soon became obvious to me.....part of me was trying to be positive and made me flick between my feelings sometimes.

After a one game review looks like we are doing exactly the same as last year, eg discipline on frees, cant play anything close to 4 qtrs.

The winning Richmond used to run over teams --remember that? WE are not that team anymore.
Carlton was on the ropes and we just shut down and let them run over us with dumb play.
People are going to be crying tomorrow.
