Left foot ....Right foot...Left hand.....Right hand.
He's got those.
Now that's my idea of an emerging professional footballer.
Sick of watching inside out kicks. What's up with so-called professionals who only work on their skills, wall papering over the cracks of their deficiencies.
I don't know how many times his role model, Jasper, gets into trouble because of his one-sided skill set.
Jasper will soon be trying to emulate Bonner.

This is a terrific pick up. Great kicks make a huge difference in this game, Bonner has that in spades.

26. Western Bulldogs (via trade) – Riley Bonner (SA – UTIL)
Height: 191cm, Weight: 80kg, DOB: 07/03/1997
Recruited from: West Adelaide
Range: 15-35
Profile: Tall outside type/flanker with a damaging kick.

For starters I haven't seen anyone say Bonner doesn't look good. There's a difference between thinking we missed a shot at our number 1 need, than saying we drafted the shit guy. No one's saying he's shit.

On the clearance part. Half the reason our disposal was crap was because we were being forced to play a clearance based game by the opposition who realise this is our weakness. The opposition then proceeded to get the ball forward more, set up the defensive press and force us to pinpoint passes under pressure out of the defensive end.
If we improve our clearances then we will have more time and space with the ball. Our attacks won't always come from deep in defence but we may instead be able to gain more territory and release the pressure placed on our kicking by the full on forward press.
Improve our biggest issue of 2015 - the clearances - and our F50 entries will increase, our efficiency will increase, our defence will improve and our scores will increase.

Move from 12th in clearance differential to top 6 next year and we will make the top 4.

And this area is going to be improved by taking the next available bog standard "inside mid" that late in the draft? We got rid of plodders like Matt Thomas for a reason. We don't need to clog up our list with another one.

Yep, rather than "we had him rated as the third best human being in the wider Colonel Light Prefecture", it's obvious we've snagged a player who could've genuinely gone 5-20 picks earlier and who renders any doubt over the long-term effects of losing the Dixon pick completely moot.

Could bonner be used to release broadbent into a greater midfield role to give us another big bodied mid or rotate through?

Broadbent is not a big-bodied mid. Doesn't have a great ability to win his own ball, and isn't a particularly clean one-touch player.
He's best suited to his current role off half back.

Broadbent big bodied?

*Quick Google*

189cm 88kg

Huh, he's a bigger unit than I thought. I guess the same argument could be made for pittard to the wings. I think we may have different plans for Bonner than half-back flank tbh.

I could see him being recalibrated a la Adam Kingsley. He's definitely no Salopek regarding fragility concerns, he is a big boy.

Broadbent is actually pretty great in one on one contested situations and I can see him translate that into more congested pack situations as well. I wouldn't mind trying to see him push up the ground again, as good as he's been off half back.

Sure he's definitely got great durability, and some decent size. But Broady's weapons are his big kick, his vision up the ground, and some pretty decent leg speed. These are all best utilised by receiving the ball off half back and hitting up targets up forward. He's a bit too fumbly in the contest to really ever see genuine midfield minutes, and he's been given decent opportunity before. Plus, given the lack of personell and shuffling done late this year, the fact that Broady saw no midfield time (maybe a few hits on the wing) show that the coaching staff don't rate him there either.

Welcome to the club Riley and all the best in mowing down players at Adelaide Oval. I think we should call him Scott.

I am not jaspers biggest fan....but I have come to realise he is probably all we have in the role he plays .....I have been waiting for the day for someone who can push him for his spot...hopefully this time is now...

Would love to see broady sneak into a few centre clearances each qtr. Could defibatly see him gettig a few quick clearances and move us forward. Even 25-30% midfield time I think we could see him do some damage

Sounds like a decent prospect. Kicking is such an underrated skill, especially in the modern game of zones and presses. To read that Bonner is rated among the best kicks in the draft is music to my ears.
