He wasn't in the BigFooty Top 50, he wasn't in Sheahan's top 50, he's not in my top 50, he's not in Offsider's top 50. That's less than everyone already.
I accept the possibility that rioli will be a better player then selwood, I dont agree but you are entitled to your opinion.
However to think that rioli is currently better then selwood, there are a few people having a laugh here.

How would Palmer winning the RS make him better than both of these two players by my logic, when I put Cyril ahead of Selwood despite the latter winning the RS?
Cyril is sitting comfortably in the top 50, but I also didn't say that he was ahead of Selwood atm, just that he is ahead at the same time in their careers.

Not sure about the rest but Rioli is the first first year player to ever make Sheahan's top 50 list ever try reading the list first.
Oh yea and I voted Selwood so don't go calling me bias on this, just that you clearly talk sh!t.

Yes, I accept that possibility too. Barring injury he will be the better player. Selwood came in very AFL-ready. Rioli still has a lot of upside and has been hailed as the most exciting player in the game.
That's not what this thread is about. It is a poll option, but I think Selwood is better atm, partly because he's a 3rd year player to Cyril's 2.
You have some kind of problem, and you should get yourself checked.

Looks like everyone else seems to think the years they have played/ will play won't matter, Selwood will still trump him.

I know a Geelong supporter who thinks Shannon Byrnes is quite a good player. So yes, Hammer is still only one person.

For the same reason as we're seeing in this poll, a large portion of posters on BF sh*t-canned Hawthorn supporters when we started getting excited about Franklin after his first few games because we could see things in his game that others either couldn't or refused to.
According to most on here, he was 'never going to be consistant, would never be anything more than a Flanker or pocket, wouldn't be able to play KP, couldn't take contested marks, wouldn't stay at Hawthorn and would always just be a flashy indigenous player.'
Cyril cops the same treatment. Most people on here say he's a 'good player that doesn't have the tank, gets alot of ball from Franklin's feet, will always be a flanker/pocket, and will always just be a flashy indigenous player.'
Some people see what we see, the skills, the work in close, his ability one-on-one, the balance, the decison making....but most don't.
I wouldn't worry too much though. We were proven right with Franklin, and we will be wth Rioli as well.

Your supporters also cracked the shits when you got Roughead and Franklin because Richmond got the superior Deledio and Tambling.
Selwood is, and will be the better player.
Some did yes, however NOT ALL DID. On the other hand EVERY Richmond fan knew that Tambling was going to be a gun and that Hawks where silly to pass on him.
In both this circumstance and that circumstance we are getting the same story of people not actually watching Rioli playing. I do think Selwood would most likely end up the better player but anyone who say by miles and miles has no idea at all. Rioli this season could do anything. In a very undermaned team so far this season Rioli has been Hawks best and has subsequently received pretty heavy tags. Selwood does not even get tagged.
Just a bit of food for thought for all of you who are jumping the gun a bit on the Selwood all the way bandwagon. Just remember as stated above you have been proven wrong before.

Maybe a few on BF, but the majority didn't. Anyone with a brain knew that Holland was gone and that we needed to rebuild our spine.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Rioli has all the traits to be an elite player in the comp.
He's showing just as much, if not more than Gary Jnr did at the same age.
