State under 18s teamates. 10 or so are still active AFL players, plus a few more still in state leagues, the Eagles have three by themselves.

I know, but they last played together 10 years ago and even then only for a short time. What I’m saying is you’re not necessarily excluded from footy circles because you no longer play at the top level. Maybe if you’re Jack Anthony

Those two specifically were really close mates outside of the footy.

They stayed in touch with each other even when cam went over to Sydney

Pretty sure it was more to do with his personality, how he could light up a room. Get everyone out of their shell and smiling

I agree with you - the headline isn't really reflective of the content of the article. The 'partying angle' oversimplifies Cam to being a bit of a lad - his character was clearly more engaging/warm/open/broader/richer than that.
 
Cam's funeral is in a week's time. I am sure a lot of our players will be there, and my thoughts will be with them.


A Service to Celebrate the Life of the Late Cameron Alex McCarthy of Lake Coogee will be held at the FREMANTLE Cemetery, Carrington St Palmyra at 10.30am on WEDNESDAY (29.5.2024).

Attendees are please requested to assemble outside of the West Chapel prior to this time.
