Hopefully an easy answer but I'm not sure. Travelling to Melbourne and will use my out of state membership for the first time since covid etc.

Am I still able to just walk up with my pass and sit anywhere in GA? Or do I have to pre-book now?

i dont think anyone can just walk up at the moment. Did hear it may be like that in a couple of weeks, including buying a ticket at the ground.

I agree with the notion that TDK is a ruckman more than a forward. But at this stage I'd be more worried playing on TDK than I would Levi if I were a defender. While he mightn't have the forward nous to really have a consistent impact, there's something unsettling about playing on someone that's over 200cm tall and could be sitting on your head at any given moment.

We'll see his best when he's match fit enough to play no.1 ruck for the whole game.

doesnt need to mark it either, bring it to ground and have eddie/owies sniffing around. be intereting to see how much ruck he plays as i dont think pitto can play too long fwd.

TDK can also go behind the ball if we need to lock things up, he took some greats marks back there in his two VFL games

Good ins, good outs.
I'm a little sad for Parks. Love what he's been doing, but his form is a little patchy. Will be better for his run of senior games, but probably due a rest. Will hopefully make him hungry to get back into the side. Don't think anybody expected him to play every game this year.
Not sure how Gibbons keeps a spot? The management of SPS is baffling.
While I also like what Cottrell brings, he also could probably do with a rest. Take what he's learnt back to the VFL and see if he rack up a few more possessions. We need a more damaging wing.

Need a 10+ goal win in this one.

Pitto must rotate off the bench because he is useless forward. I have memories of teams just walking the ball out of our defence when TDK or Pitto were playing forward, TDK needs to be offering more than just being a target.

Just throwing it out there. TDK a great mark behind the ball, but like so many has a little trouble in a play making role up forward. He is undoubtedly our best long term ruck prospect. I do see a potentially spectacular key defender in his make up with his speed and ability to follow up at ground level along with his aerial prowess. Just needing to find a better option as first ruck. (do like Pitto's combative nature and we can do worse as options, but not seeing top liner).

Just a thought with our relatively desperate time frame to find a Jones replacement. Hope we can fast track the athletic 210cm Mirkov, (or someone else), probably needs two preseasons to build a tank though.

You may have to prebook through ticketek as I have had to do this for people I know with GA memberships the last 2 weeks (round 9, 10)

TDK needs to play games in AFL because he is one of our more talented players so I am happy to see him in. SOJ is a no brainer as well.

Couldn't care less about what will be a never-ending debate about the relative merit of Gibbons/Owies/Murphy etc returns from injury and developing younger players will force consistent form and ability to be the filter. I don't think Teague has been unfair in his selections.

The most important part of our game plan is to get the flow from backs/mids/forwards each way more right than wrong - and I guess the more continuity there is in team selection the better as far as that goes.

The list will be better off when Carlton stops being a bottom side- and the yearly flow of high pick talent ceases - the experience with Dow/SPS/LoB has just shown that pre AFL form is a rough indicator of potential alone for most players - and converting potential into weekly AFL quality performance is a different matter altogether. The draft is much more a lottery than a sure thing for most cases -so I have minimal expectations of the aforementioned players and will be happy if any of them develop into AFL grade players- they can start by beating their opponents in VFL week in week out.

It would be nice to win this one- I don't care about the margin either - the team has shown no ability to destroy opposition teams so I expect a relatively close game either way.

Hopefully, Docherty plays more wing time - that was a huge positive for me last week watching our other Captain play so well.

Dow looks lost most of the time at AFL level
I remain VERY skeptical on O'Brien
Honey is still really raw
I love SPS but he is a massive headscratcher at AFL level right now and is one of the most popular gameday whipping boys

None of those really move the team selection needle IMO.
Take a bit of raw honey.

I really like Owies. I think he can be one of our permanent small forwards going forward along with fish. Really good kick. Goes in and works hard.
I also like his defensive workrate. I reckon every game so far he's played I've seen him make a play inside Defensive 50, either a tackle or smother, that's saved a goal.

season's near a write off. Lose this and it's as good as curtains. And as we've seen in previous years the Hawks map their season out based on making sure they knock us off no matter what. If we're worth anything this season at all we'll smoke 'em. Stink it up and flop? well.yeah. TDK and Jack in looks good. TDK cmon big fella. Blues by 38 points.Setters due for something decent. Can play. And love to see stocker assert himself a bit more. Owies kicks 4.Wouldn't mind seeing cotts do the super flex/van damme stare combo again. its time.

Ah, the good ol days of unbiased commentary. When the Ch10 comm box consisted of Tim Lane, Wallsy and SOS.

No passion in that Wallsy call there lol.

*Thornton used to drive me nuts. Very courageous and good overhead, but by Dog he was self centric. I've never seen anyone hatch and milk a possession, every possession, like him. By the end of his career i was fully expecting him to place the ball on the ground, pull his socks up, and throw some grass in the air....after marking in the Back pocket.

He used to love a chat. Heard a story that he would always ask his forward opponent if they were ever going to get a kick... even though they'd already kicked 4 on him.

Don't really know how you're supposed to respond to that so I suppose it works?

Carlton-v-Hawthorn barometer.

Carlton wins by 40+ points: Back on track, injuries have crippled them, they are a much better team than we gave them credit for and belief returning to the squad.

Carlton wins by 1-24 points: Should have beaten a team like Hawthorn by a bigger margin. Defence and mids are still a huge problem, but take the win.

Hawthorn wins by 1-7 points: Lucky win, umpires killed the Blues, injuries did not help, did not play that badly. Hawthorn dirty tactics.

Hawthorn wins by 8-29 points: Teague has lost the players, club is in crisis, need an immediate review, the sky is falling.

Hawthorn wins by 30-50 points. Barker steps in as the interim coach, until a new coach is selected.

Yeah, but you’ve never liked him Jimmae.

Personally, I thought he came back a week too early.
I think it's important that people keep looking at the differential between his possessions and disposals, as well as his uncontested possession % and his defensive impact on the game.

Not interested in players that can't at least make it somewhere to try and win their own footy.

Needs to be able to go into the mid-field for various stages. Does he have the fitness?
