Midfield needs to work harder, not spreading hard enough.. That's the difference right there..

Yep it all goes back to the midfield..killed in clearances and Saints running in through their getting clean F50 entries.
Forward line also needs to put more pressure on.

Our only good line has been our defence, who have been rock solid given the amount of easy ball going into our D50.

A bitter reality check folks, trying not to be too negative, but surely we should stop any talk of finals if the formline continues for the rest of the game.

Umpires have also been bad, haven't paid holding the ball (against either team) all game
Well said. We were seriously never going to be a good chance for finals. We have a tough run coming up. Games against top 8 sides will see us slip back one or two spots on the ladder.

We were always a very very long shot to make finals...anyone who thought otherwise is just delusional.

Put quite simply, the shoe is on the other foot today, we are the hunted rather than the hunter, the Aints just working harder in and around stoppages and in getting numbers back in defence, i don't know where the spark is going to come from, but it will need to happen early in the third or we could be in trouble imo

Gibbs and Cripps for a start, reckon Bolton will give them a spark or two

Saints have come out like this a few times this year and i think we have taken their best shot.

We will need to lift though in saying that but we are still a massive chance and kicking for goal well.

At a cursory glance at the stats hard to believe we're 9-6 up on frees.

Disposals per goal: Saints - 23.62 to Blues - 40.60
Disposals per score: Saints - 17.18 to Blues - 29.00

Yikes.

Gibbs has done **** all since being told he's in the favourites for the Brownlow. Bullshit. Been terrible for 2 weeks.

We need to obviously put more pressure on the saints by making our tackles stick and hurt.
The tackle by Wright near the boundary line is what we need to do on a consistent basis, it cant be the exception.

And we also need to put pressure on the saints by moving the ball quickly, rather than playing stop start kicking that just gives the saints times to get numbers back and to the drop of the ball.

Still believe we can turn this around, our midfield will start to get their hands on the ball eventually, just need to stay close enough in the mean time.

We seem to be kicking backwards more than usual this week. Simmo was steaming through the centre then turned around and kicked it back to Weiters.

Take the game on! Still confident we can turn it around with some decent aggressive work.

White and Walker in forward line is giving us nothing. We cant block them into their half...means structures arent able to be put in place and they are playing manic footie - do they tire? Do we lift?

Gibbs Everitrt are they actually playing? Where is our midfield and how do they get numbers to every contest and space with no markers?

Worst half in many weeks - lets see what we can do in second half - but White and Walker with a resting Gorringe in forward line...no way is that a defensive possibility up front - exposes whole set up and game plan.
