This year couldn't actually get any worse.........we have to hope for an Essendon win now, fmd.
TBH we are not there, the loss of a finals spot due to some piss poor showings .... Dawks, Demons, Port ect will fire up the boys.
id rather miss this year than make a showing and lose the EF.
I only want a finals spot if we have a real chance of winning one or two, if not going the whole way.

Saying that .... finals experience is important but this year way less so.

No doubt who this weeks whipping boy is........

Gov to fire up against his old mob and show his special talents.....

BTW... He looks fitter than his brother and nobody calling him pudding.

Looking forward to seeing plenty of "I was wrong "posts tomorrow night.

But most will probably not say boo after he has a big one!

Gov really does need to pull his finger out.
Had it not been for Charlies injury I dare he'd be playing scratch matches.

Happy to see lob given a shot, interested to know why it's taken so long. Also glad to see Mitch get his 15th 2nd chance to show something. Here's to many more bumps allowing for handballs to be given when a tackle would have earned us a holding the ball. Can see why he wanted to come to us, paid big money to do nothing and not be held accountable in the slightest.

Sounds like the Marsh brothers and the Australian cricket team.

Isn't McGovern out of contract at the end of the year...certainly not playing like it...one benefit I guess is that surely he won't be getting current coin
Doubt it. It's only his 2nd year with us and players don't normally move for a 2 year contract. Without looking into it I'd say we've got him for at least another 2.

Would be rapt if it is though (just as it would mean we got extend him on a more appropriate number, not move him on).

Nah we will win and win handsomely ..... the boys will give us a sniff for next week.

How good would that be?

Beat the lions for a finals spot!

Even better .... * winning gives us a finals spot 😂🤣😂
Don't say that out loud.

No doubt should McAdam have a good game, the Gibbs deal will be highlighted next week, even more than it has.

For that not to come about O'Brien will need to have a better game.

We also got TDK from the picks we got for Gibbs.

Pick 10 - LOB
Pick 16 - became 2 picks in the twenties, one traded for Kennedy and the other used on TDK

The Gibbs trade is already under the microscope:

Of that trade and the players acquired for the Blues:
LOB - we wait and see on how this one pans out, but next year should be a telling indication of where he sits
Kennedy - hasn't delivered what was hoped of him. Dogged by injuries but has his obvious limitations.
Schumacher - Bomb.
Gov - output has not justified his cost. Pending Charlie's return next year, his place in a fit forward line must yield a better output than what he has delivered to date.
TDK - Out biggest win of it all.

The Gibbs deal won’t come to fruition until at least another couple of years.
Which we only highlight how incredibly stupid it was more...
De Konning, O'Brien and Kennedy still playing way past Gibbs gone is a nice change of pace from the decade before under Hughes and Rogers. Reid obviously from same school of thinking of those two.

Betts is dangerous and requires a player focused on stopping him.

McGovern also takes the attention of a defender dedicated to stopping him.

If those two aren't in the side where do you think those two defenders will be? Double or triple teaming Harry, or floating around cutting off attacks and rebounding.

Oh and btw Eddie Betts this year has been our best small forward we"ve had since... Eddie Betts. By a mile.

Getting back pick 13 for mcgovern & change redeems half the trade for crows.
