GCS going in the game with two talls and four smalls in their forward line.

I am enjoying the depth in our key tall backs but cant play them all at the same time.

2 talls + plowman + 3 smalls is what is required.

Would not play Weitering nor Jones in the forward line so need to try Marchbank there, I think.
weitering has been tried there and has done ok

I'm suggesting Marchbank because of his mobility and that we'll need that 2nd key defender for the Suns.

Of all the parts in the defensive structure for him to step into, I'd say Marchbank and Plowman's roles are the easiest, especially when you consider how advanced up the field Marchbank was against Richmond; he was basically rotating with Simpson.

Agility is a bit below average for his role, and he seems to try and play taller in pack situations to zero advantage. Defensive positioning is poor, while not really offering that much in the way of run and carry as a midfielder. Think Seedsman, but less physically imposing.

Seems to be a player who gets the ball, runs his measure when allowed it, then kicks. If he had some evasion about him, he'd be a terrifying winger, but he doesn't.
I'd much prefer Marchbank on a key forward then Weitering at this point. Not having a go but Marchbank forward makes little sense with his importance and competitiveness down back.

This will be a quick game, glad SPS, Fish and Dow are on our side.
Yep
Suns also have a group[very large one also of quick kids]
I was liking this game a lot for an easy 4 points if we work very hard kick straight and true and put them away
However its starting to look pretty close Why?
-Kreuz out or not moving well might as well rest him
-Hall back in and one of their best

Iam very glad they are away for this points opportunity for us,i also think we might have a litle more experience and might resort to a more structured zoned kicking game which i would like to see.

I would not like to take suns on in a running frenzy, and i hope Bolton will see the team working to a structure for 4 quarters.

It dont have to be fast,it dont even have to be pretty, just 4 points pls.

Anyone get the feeling that we are going to go into this game with McKay and Casboult as our rucks and Kreuzer will miss?

Media releases about Kreuzer doing his best to get up, no genuine ruck named in emergencies, wouldn't want to announce to the opposition that Casboult will be first ruck...

It's not as easy as it sounds BLUEALLTHRU.

Kernahan is a legend of our club but was limited as an administrator. Appointing Malthouse and offloading Ratten showed he thought our quality was ready for a tilt at a flag. Really lacked knowledge of where our list was at. Really didn't understand the cost of Wayne Hughes as our head administrator.

Kernahan as a good bloke blindly believed in all of them. A different character in Dunstall at Hawtorn (a few years back now) called it how he sees it with a bit more analysis/hardness. Clubs went down different paths.

Some supporters want to support in blind faith (yourself and admirable). Others after 18 years of failure have opened their eyes and realise, they want to voice their opinion on trading, recruiting, players and administration. Nothing wrong with the latter.
Limited??? **** me sideways!!! He was an unmitigated egotistical ****ing disaster as an administrator. Straight out of the Pig's Arse School of Corporate Governance. Just remember him as a good footy player and leave it at that. Honestly, the piss-poor excuses.........at least Imelda Marcos succeeded in list managing shoes.

I read Carl Sagan once believed that eventually all the universe would be sucked into a black hole .

I'm now convinced all CFC threads get sucked into something much harder to escape......the value of Casboult .
.......or you into a multiquote. :p

Really looking forward to this game.

The Suns should not be taken lightly, despite having some injuries.

Eade was a disciplinarian, but I believe was out of touch with his playing group. Only a small sample size but Dew seems to have quickly made a mark when it comes to instilling commitment in his players, evident by the JLT and first game against.

If we persist with the attacking layers (hopefully), this game could have some real pace about it.

Hard to clean up someone else's mess when you're not allowed to use the broom.

Would rather Kreuz miss tomorrow and be good for next Friday to match up with Grundy, as well as the rest of the season. Witts has been good and consistent now for a period of time, but I don't think the ruck will be where we lose the game tomorrow if it were to eventuate. More forward press and less handballing when trying to slice them open or run the ball are two things I hope we step up with tomorrow. Loved the usage of the corridor last week as well, want to see more of it, but need better decision making when choosing to do so.

If we're going to use the corridor we're going to need to be really skilled, we had some good moments last week but aren't there yet, haven't been there since 2000ish. It's a good game plan that will emphasise players with sketchy skills.

If we use the corridor and turn it over we're going to get scored heavily against.

Happy to keep going direct and being attacking. But we'll need the team for it!

It will improve with time as our list will become better at developing better usage as we implement the new attacking part of our game plan. The younger guys will get better in disposing when under pressure as well as choosing the correct options when moving the ball. But I feel some of our young guys are smart enough and have a good tactical nous, such as SPS and Fish, to understand what to do when going direct through the middle. By Round 9 or 10, hopefully that is plain to see for us in the stands, in terms of improvement in this area.

My main concern from last week though is the exit out of half back, in terms of moving the ball. The defensive unit needs to make sure they aren't trying to over do it when moving the ball out of the defensive 50. Byrne for example was trying to draw defenders to him to create the handball option over the top or for those in space, but kept drawing them too close or attempted to skip past them with pace which got him into trouble too many times. Frequent things like that and the Suns will punish us when creating such turnovers we created last week, due to choosing bad options or poor disposal by either hand or foot.
