Fair post.

Some of us Tigers fans think we're a chance, mainly due to the Pies missing a few decent players. At full strength, I'm sure most of us sane supporters think the Pies should be odds on favs. But fact is, the Pies are being forced to fill a few holes. But will be expecting them to breath fire this week after the Hawks loss. I just feel if we can withstand that initial onslaught, we might be able to get moving in the second half, and come out on top.

On 2013 form, the sides are pretty evenly matched. Should be a good game, can't wait.

I'm obviously biased, so Tigers by 12 points.
This! I don't get the bravado of some Pies fans in this thread. The reality is that Richmond have done pretty much everything asked of them so far regardless of the fact that we all know that assessing form on the basis of early season games is folly. By contrast the Pies have not exactly set the world on fire in limping over the line against a clearly underperforming Carlton and being flogged by Hawthorn. Given our list of outs and underdone players I personally can't see why the Tigs wouldn't go in modest favourites. It will likely be a good game but for either side to be claiming any kind of flag contention before about round 6 or 7 is definitely premature.

Really good post.
I'm really big on basically ignoring early season form also. It can be horribly misleading and if you like a punt the same as I do you'd be best advised to tip toe through this minefield( yet I've jagged 23 winners somehow) haven't made a cracker because my one and only crack was bloody Freo last Friday night!

Example is due mainly to the draw we are 3-0.Kangas are 0-3. To my eye the kangas are the most compatible team to us in style and ability.
This gives me some hope because North appear to give the pies a bit of trouble.
But as you rightly say about 1/3 of the season in you can start taking different form lines into account. Not now.

Could be right there MT. I reckon he or Mcguane could be key if we get some good ball through the middle.
I am about to say something that I never thought I would say, read or hear in my lifetime- I don't know if Collingwood have a good match up for Mcguane.

I just had to let that hang there it sounded weird.
I know people love bagging Maxwell but it makes a big difference him not being there.

Just a quiet tip tall forwards are not a major problem for the Pies defenders but small quick ones are but don't tell Dimma

Don't understand how anyone can be so confident one way or the other. I can see us giving them a real shake because of their outs and we have some confidence up. On the other hand I can see them winning because of the class and mentality they have, this team very rarely loses games on the bounce. Should be a ripper game either way.

Didn't lose 2 games in a row all year last year until the loss to Norf and then wce

PAX is the number on the side of the ticket that let you know how many tickets have been sold for the match/event. Ticketek are they only ones who do it though.
Oh.
Can't be many left then I guess.

If Richmond can't win this one then they're not going to trouble anyone this year.

With their injuries so far Collingwood is doing very well indeed.

So I'm assuming Essendon win ANZAC day by..... What 7,8 goals?

Oh dear. That comment will do very little to enhance whatever credibility you might have had!
Why? I dont follow the Pies, big deal. I know he is a defender, but didnt you see the "?" i had a feeling this year he was moving up the ground a bit. Plus i bet their is elements of our players you dont know.

Half the injured Collingwood players aren't in their best 22 anyway. That's a poor excuse. They'll have 18-20 of their best 22 out there on the weekend

Beams won their B&F. Maxwell is the Captain. Jolly is their ruckman. Those are three very important players.

Thomas just played his first game (will probably be good to go for this, though). Ball - fine, he wasn't there last year anyhow. Young - fine, he's new to the club.

Richmond is missing no-one comparable. And unless Fletcher misses for Essendon we're only missing Ryder too.

Richmond and Essendon would see this as a chance to get a win against a tough side. I would expect both want to take the points while they can.

Nathan Foley

If you want to count Foley then the Pies will count Ball for sure.

36 games in 3 years against 51 games in 3 years.

I simply responded to your "Richmond is missing no-one comparable." well we are and i duly notified u of that......Both are hard at it but Foley is a line breaker gives the team more meterage with his run n carry but yeah overall apart from Foley we are injury free....

Injured players.... Meh
Mark McClure summed it up best once when he said "big deal players are like spark plugs.one stops working you pull it out and get it serviced and put another one in.The engine still runs"
