It felt that way. If third umpire had of overruled like the Tom lynch goal I would agree with u 100%.

So far this season it Feels like there has been at least a handful of goal umpires calls not not overruled due to insufficient evidence. They learnt their lesson.
Third umpire couldn’t over-rule unless they could prove it didn’t hit the post. Harder to do with the quality of the video

She is right though, every team seems to think they got robbed always.

You would have to be a numbnuff not to see how one sided it was last night though.
the sheila must have been blindfolded
when we were 16-3 in the last quarter

Freo coming off 3 solid wins, away and with some really questionable umpiring is a amazing win no matter what way to try dampen it
Especially how we won as well with Freo having a lot of momentum in the last qtr and instead of our players going into their shells they rallied and had guys like Bolton really stand up who can tend to be a bit of a downhill skier at times
4 wins in a row. They beat Melbourne in Melbourne, Geelong, Sydney in Sydney and Hawks by 11 goals.

They had the bye and playing at home, we had a 6 break after playing in Sydney last week.

Great win.

It was really just the non-calls on HTB that stood out to me. Just blatantly dropping it or in that one case standing there for 5 seconds holding the ball above their head, then tackled and no call. If I cbf I'd find the footage, that one was hilarious.

The problem is that there are certain fans - and quite a few of them on here - for whom umpiring consumes their existence and they think the free kick count should be 31-7 our way every week.
It's a default response, to the point, when there is a genuine gripe, it gets lost and branded as just more whinging.
Last night's umpiring was as bad as I have seen it in any AFL game, but when you complain week after week after week, a genuine and necessary swipe means nothing, which is sad.

injuries to Gibcus snd Tarrant resulted in him getting an earlier than expected call up.
Probably getting shown up now, not having done a full apprenticeship in the VFL and no experience playing junior football
Agree.Spoil ability is his asset but everything else you can tell no junior football upbringing.

HTB is a disgrace of a rule these days and so far away from what was the rule was meant to be.
I see dozens of free kicks each round given to players for holding or dropping the ball when the ball is knocked out of their hands without a tackle even being laid.
That's not dropping or holding the ball ... it's pay on knocking it from someone's hands.

Don't think many genuinely want the free kick count skewed our way, we just want consistency. ie riewoldt and lynch getting sexually abused every week and campaigners like mmmmkay and curlew getting 6 frees in front every week. It's conditioned us to be anti-umpire.

How impressive was big Samson in the wet?
Even that 1min before 3/4 time to take the full 30 seconds to have a shot from 60 out when Freo were charging hot

Such a smart footballer, gonna be an absolute star
Give him the #12 jersey already
Also liked later in the game on our attacking goal line rather than put pressure on the defender and have him just walk the ball through for a behind (and the 30 meter possession on the exit ramp that that now entails) he stood back meaning the defender had no pressure on him and had to keep the ball in play.

Much harder for Freo to exit d50 that way.

Clever.

you can see it smash into the umps flag on the post on the rear view either way which is a behind so they can't bitch about it
Umpires killed freo last night cost them the four points
