Strangely enough RFK has said jack s**t about health insurance in the US. Surely if anything that needs ripping apart and starting again its health insurance in the US. If you want to make health care great again then give people access to affordable health care a start.
Whether congress votes him in or not he will still have a lot of influence over Trump and health policy. I really dont think that Trump is massively interested in health more about ripping apart the status quo and demolishing existing government structures because he thinks they are part of the swamp or something else that comes into his mind for 5 seconds.
And Rebecca Judd has just said she thinks that we need an RFK in Australia......i shouldn't be surprised really.

Genuine question - how involved is the government in drug research? My instinct is that most of it is private, either within pharmaceutical companies or at universities. I guess the government has some influence in giving grants (at least for early stage research) and certainly in granting approvals. But I’d be surprised if they can stop research.
If they can slow it, there’s a great opportunity for other countries to poach the top research talent.
I do have some misgivings about “Big Pharma” but there's some amazing research going on in some fields (eg cancer treatments, vaccines).

Hope whatever he ends up doing in his quest to 'Make America Healthy Again' he avoids press conferences as much as possible. Seems like a stoic character but god his voice is awful to listen to.
Also hope he's able to somehow get his hands on the JFK files just for the melts.

I applaud his intent, but I can't see any way he's successful in doing what he's laid out. Reckon he'll be gone and forgotten about by the end of 2025.

Well if that is his intent then good luck to him. Wouldn't be the first politician to follow that route. Personally hope he's true to his word with his public declaration to attempt to 'MAHA' without accidentally obliterating the medical system or cooking the price of produce & goods. I'd say my confidence levels in him are about 5% though unfortunately.
Either way I'm looking forward to seeing the back of whatever warped sh**show they call this iteration of American Politics. The last 3 elections have been nothing short of a circus, which mind you I've thoroughly enjoyed watching and laughing about from a distance.
