Robert Harvey: Most overrated player ever?

Wow Carlton must really rate Old Harves to promote him eh?

HAHAHAHAH Promotion? I am sorry... that is called being moved sideways before being moved out.

Why else do you think they moved Harvey out of the development position? They don't want him developing young kids.... could you imagine it. "He kids... I'll teach you how to run quick even though I was a snail... I'll teach you to kick long distances even though I can't kick more htan 35m... then I will show you how to kick with both feet even though I never used my left foot in my entire career... then I will round it off with some marking practice... because I struggled to get a mark a game."

HAHAHAH yeah promoted my ass. More like moved into a position where he can do little to no damage.... with other assistant coaches who will watch every move he makes and completely ignore anything he says.

Nah he's not in their class. He's higher up the ladder than that.

Judd: 1 Brownlow
Hird: 1 Brownlow
Buckley: 1 Brownlow
Harvey: 2 Brownlow's

Do the math there.

Robert Harvey - Brownlow Medallist
Shane Woewodin - Brownlow Medallist
Tony Liberatore - Brownlow Medallist
Brian Wilson - Brownlow Medallist
Brad Hardie - Brownlow Medallist

You do the comparison

Why is it when there is something remotely about St Kilda, Braun is not too far behind? Oh that's right cos he's a failure of a person/troll.

Oh also "I can't kick more htan 35m.." Got so worked up trying to beat off to your own post while writing it the grammar got a little stuffed up eh Braun?

Grammar? HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I think you are the one who needs English lessons. Do you know what Grammar is? Is Grammar mistyping "than" as "htan" because of hitting the keys at the wrong time?

HAHAHAAHAHA Uneducated Moron :D :D :D

He is on staff, to show the midfield how to dink it 25m and achieve a top running speed of 0.1 KMH.

There may be odd occasions when we need to dink it, like when our main forward line options are covered and we need to use our 5th option Yarran as a lead up target rather than a crumber.

Harvey promotion = Carlton will win less games.

They might get a Brownlow medalist though. He should be OK @ teaching ppl how to play for personal achievement and gain. He could just show videos of his overly long playing career.

I have already discussed the worth of the brownlow medal earlier in this thread. Perhaps you should try and catch up before posting.

Harvey doesn't really have 2 brownlows anyway, The second one is Chris Grant's.

LOL

If Harvey was going 0.1KMH, Ratten and Bradley were stood still and Williams was going backwards.

At least try for some semblance of realism.

Even without my anti Carlton bias, I say Kouta is the most overrated player of the modern era, 5 good games in a row does not a legend make.

...and 20 years of mediocrity does? Koutoufides accomplished more in his "5 good games" than Harvey did in his entire career.

see what I mean about overrated, the bloke's still living on potential. He had 4 good years and played 16. In fact he had more poor to average seasons than Harves.

He was a good player when Carltons paper bag heroes were carrying the team, when he bacame the elder statesman he was average at best.

Only one of the above 2 played 5 seasons too long and it wasn't Harvey.

Had he retired in 2002 I would have agreed with you that he was a good person, but as he continued to drag on his career it was clear for all to see Harvey was nothing more than a selfish glory hound, who put himself before his club.

Kouta?

Wins Kouta played in in his last 6 years - 20

Carlton wins in the 2 years since Kouta left - 23

Grand Final appearances strike rate

With Harvey 5 %
Since Harvey Left 100%

Avg GF losing margin

With Harvey : 31
Since Harvey left : 12

Average HA wins

With Harvey : 12 (estimate)
Since Harvey left : 20

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

One minute ago it was 5 games. Now its 4 years..? Looking forward to your next post where you declare he was the best of all time :D

In fact he had more poor to average seasons than Harves

Every year for Harvey was a poor to average season, even his brownlow years were mediocre. Assuming you still believe that Koutoufides had 4 good years I guess we are now in agreement he was the better player.

Only one of the above 2 played 5 seasons too long and it wasn't Harvey.

Koutoufides was simply playing out his contract which was signed prior to his injury. Harvey on the other hand played 8 years too many, selfishly clogging up St Kilda's list while adding absolutely no value to the side.

I understand its hard to accept given that your club has had so few "champions" in the past, but you just need to give this one up - Harvey was a SPUD :D:thumbsu:

I feel more sorry for Harvey now more than ever before.

He rocks up to training and it's...
"Spud, spud, mercenary, spud, spud, Worried off it by Milne, spud, likes pink d!ck shaped objects, spud, spud and my boss is Alfred E Neuman."

I hope the money is good Harvs.

Happy to call it as i see it..... Kouta had 4 good years and a particularly outstanding 5 week period.

......Unlike others

Assuming you still believe that Koutoufides had 4 good years I guess we are now in agreement he was the better player.

Yep still believe it

4 good ones out of 16
and I believe Harves had 10 good ones out of 21

wow, 6 year contracts, was that the official one or the unofficial one?

I bet he wishes he could have come back from a knee as well as Harves? Would have only required football nouse and self discipline.

I understand its hard to accept given that your club has had so few "champions" in the past, but you just need to give this one up - Harvey was a SPUD :D:thumbsu:

So apparently he is now underrated? odd thread.

Sylvia is a gun did you see his game against tassie this year? Exceptional talent and now has mental attitude to be anything.

I saw him in round 18 playing for Casey, apparently due to his mental attitude.
