A little while ago I rediscovered the pisstake on Shaddupa You Face, Bite Yer Bum. That was funny.

Back in 1981 Deane Waretini recorded a classic Spanish song in Maori, it was a number one hit. It was widely recognised for bringing both white and brown Kiwis together in a time of division. As one of the youtube comments says, "Although this video shows the little bridge on the Karioi reservoir at Wellington, Dean told me that the bridge George Tait was referring to in the song was the one at Auckland over the Manukau Harbour, between the middle class white suburb of Onehunga and the brown working class one of Mangere. The song alludes to the social bridge that was needed to to join the brown and white cultures. There are indeed strong tides that flow around the piles of that bridge, symbols of the social forces tearing at the unity of Aucklanders."
