Cox & Naitanui had the rotating ruck/forward thing going. It limited both their outputs when talking pure ruckwork.

Sam Jacobs had a better season being the main man at the Crows and deserved the ruck spot.

I would've still had Cox in the team, but Naitanui didn't deserve to be there.

Good to see Petracca recognised. A lot had him on a wing or the HFF. He had a massive influence in the middle this year.
Gawn had a really good year to. Played through injury also for a bit of the year. Some of those bench spots are a toss of the coin anyway.
The forward line was interesting. And the wings. Didn’t really select wingmen.

I don’t care either way about the captaincy but clearly there were strong grounds for Danger to make the team - BOG performances against finalists like Brisbane and the Bulldogs, match winning performance in the final game of the season, equal #1 in the league for goal assists....

What exactly are you basing this on? He's our best player in a side that was equal the top of the ladder. Was probably our best player in at least 10 of our games. Sounds pretty valuable to me.

Boak was in that other 'equal' top team too.

I agree with you, Bont along with Dusty are deserving of sitting on the pine only. If you’re evaluating Dangers worth as a forward, then no way does he deserve to be in the team.... as a mid, forward and especially not as captain. He simply hasn’t been good enough.

Said elsewhere he might struggle to justify one of the forward spots with 15 goals and he should probably be selected on the bench. But then they picked blokes who kicked fewer goals at HF.

Not a "quiet" year. An average Dusty year. Multiply his disposals by 1.25 and it's around the mark of most of his good years.

Hands down the WORST one I have ever seen!

A selection panel made mostly of media personalities, selecting players based on their status in the game. It is all about resumes and reputations along with possession numbers.

You cannot seriously think Martin was deserving of an AA spot over some of those who missed out. The guy didn't click until halfway through the season. He, Dangerfield and Bontempelli all in the forward line over genuine forwards such as Cameron and Butler is absolutely pathetic. Whether they had a good year or not, they shouldn't be named in positions over those who ACTUALLY play in that position.

What honestly goes on in the selectors heads? 'Let's just put in as many midfielders as we can'.

Also for May and Weitering to have missed out after playing as traditional defenders arguably not losing a single one-on-one contest over the likes of Moore who got in simply due to seeing more of the ball (no surprise given Collingwood are stat-padders nearly every year, on top with disposals). Didn't he get moved once or twice up forward during the year because he was getting destroyed by his forward opponents?

Byrne-Jones over Maynard and Ridley is also absurd.

No actual wingmen either?!

This team is mostly a bunch of marketable faces. All part of a money-making scheme.

The AA's mean zilch anymore unless they are made either a public vote or something else better.
