no that Honour goes to Clangerfield. And he Somehow got the captain nod when he can’t Even lead a horse to Bloody water. 🤥 FMD. S) Hocking at it again. Guthrie. OMG. LOL Surely that’s just a joke too. As useless as **** on a bull.

Guthrie had a very good season. Personally would have picked Menegola but Guthrie is hardly a howler. Been critical to a top 4 side all season.

Minus a couple of slow early games, Bont’s been extraordinary this year, but any player placed out of position will have a target on his back. I was hoping for a position on the bench. He’s probably played forward less this year than the previous 2.
People say he is over rated all the time i just dont understand.
Agree HFF odd but certainty for the bench.
Fun fact for every1 complaining about butler missing it. Over the last 7 games he kicked 1 less goal than bont.

Horrible what theyve done to the forward line this year. Really unfair for Papley and Butler. Theyve basically made it very difficult for a full time forward to get in the AA now. Papley would need to get 20 odd touches a game and kick a few goals to get an inclusion.

We’re clearly following the St Kilda ‘if you can‘t draft & develop them, buy them’ approach.

Hopefully we can also rise all the way to 6th on the ladder one day.

Yes but you are doing it all wrong.

We are buying players on the cheap and they become All-Australians, you are buying players on big salaries and they play in the reserves.

Congrats Hawkins, the worst Coleman medallst of all time, 42 goals lol.

When you multiply the minutes out, 17 games instead of 22, 16-minute quarters instead of 20, it works out that you need to multiply by 1.62 to get equivalents. Hawkins' effort equates to 68 goals in a normal season. Then you're playing most games at night, with conditions a bit slippery, and games not long enough for one side to get fatigued and the floodgates to open.

Thought Hawkins was the obvious first forward selection, and Dixon the obvious second. They were the only players to average two goals per game.

Congrats Hawkins, the worst Coleman medallst of all time, 42 goals lol.

Handed to him by Jack Riewoldt, the 2nd worst Coleman medalist of all time.

Lockett, Dunstall and Gary Ablett Senior will be turning in their graves, they had to kick over 100 goals to win one.

Lockett and Dunstall wouldnt kick close to that in today's game. They probably wouldnt even have the gas tank. You put Hawkins in 1992 and hes kicking 100.

Cox & Naitanui had the rotating ruck/forward thing going. It limited both their outputs when talking pure ruckwork.

Sam Jacobs had a better season being the main man at the Crows and deserved the ruck spot.

I would've still had Cox in the team, but Naitanui didn't deserve to be there.

Rubbish. Naitanui was superior to Cox that year.
If anything Cox was lucky to make the team.

Of all the things to cry about this would have to be the strangest

Wake up to yourself mate. There’s making an argument because it’s there to be made, and there’s making one based on little more than emotion and the biased perceptions you have in your own head that are supported by - let’s have a guess here - what you’ve seen when Team X plays against yiur

take the blinkers off.

for the majority of the season most people have suggested that Guthrie has been in the mix.

Dangerfield shouldn’t have been captain as far as I’m concerned but he doesn’t pick the team.

steve hocking - seriously mate he’s one part of a full committee.
Guess what - KB and Richo are on the selection committee.

so I guess that’s the only reason Martin got picked, yeah?

grow up mate

Don't get all the hate for bont honestly. HFF was odd but i thought he was a certainty for bench as back up.mid. 6th in coaches votes they know more about the game than all of us on here and also 6th in players MVP.
Also the number 1 ranked player in the game since round 10 on all player ratings
People dont disagree with Bont being in the side, just where he was named, is a gun but he is not a half forward.

Bloke should be in the middle or on the bench.

Just this year? They have done it every year!

Can someone explain the criteria for picking Captain, because clearly I don't understand. If you want the best player of the year, pick Neale since he's the glaringly obvious choice.

If you want a legitimate captaincy pick, Bont came runner up in the AFLPA Best Captain award, so how on earth is Dangerfield picked here?

Yeah of all the players to criticise id choose the guy with 30 per cent more goals than anyone else, who has set up more direct goals than anyone else, who has been involved in more scores than anyone else.

thats definitely where I’d start with my criticism.

Bench and get rid of Adams who dead set turns it over ever second possession! There is a reason why the Pies have sucked...he gets the ball so often!

As much as people rave on about defenders not having an award to be recognised with, at least they have All Australian.

Outside of 1 player winning the Coleman each year, there is truly no serious recognition for forwards. Half the starting forward line are midfielders, it's just a pisstake at this stage

Because he isnt a forward. And forwards who had great years missed out on selection because they named Bont in a position he doesnt play.

Either he warrants being selected in the position he lines up in every week or he shouldn't be picked at all.

I believe its the marketing bucks vs games ratio

Bont or boak were better options
