Alright, here is my first serious crack at a team. Had a real tough time putting this one together, so feedback would be much appreciated.

B Jordan Ridley - Aaron Francis - Mason Redman
HB Nick Hind - Jayden Laverde - Dyson Heppell
C Nik Cox - Andrew McGrath - Kyle Langford
HF Will Snelling - Harrison Jones - Jake Stringer
F Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti - Cale Hooker - Peter Wright
R Andrew Phillips - Darcy Parish - Zach Merrett
Int. Brayden Ham - Devon Smith - Archie Perkins - Matt Guelfi

While some would feel stiff to be missing out here (James Stewart, Dylan Shiel, Jye Caldwell in particular) it simply comes down to how many games they have played. Can you really be an All-Australian after 2 games? I’m leaning towards no.

The ruck battle is where it gets interesting. Sam Draper and Andrew Phillips have both played just 2 games this year, while young Nick Bryan has just 1 under the belt. A case could be made for Peter Wright to ruck, however I feel he is better suited up forward. Phillips and Draper probably hold even standing at the moment, however with Draper out long term I’ll give the nod to Phillips.

What about Adam Saad? Oh wait he left and is shite anyway.

Close, but I'd have James Hird on the HFF, Stringer to the pocket, 2MP to the bench and Guelfi to WA

Just saw a stat that said 52% of all Picketts touches result in a score involvement

That has to put him in AA contention

Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk

Don’t really see the logic in this he’s not in the top 30 for average score involvements. He shouldn’t be marked up because he’s a low disposal winner.

AFL needs to release score assists as stat. Would be good to see who is directly generating the most scores.

yeah I don't know if I would have him in the team tbh

But 14.5 touches a game for a permanent small forward wouldn't be a low figure it would be about average for that position I would assume

Since when is a 15 disposal average low for a small forward ?

Compared to AA players I’d say it is.

The point is that percentage of touches that are score involvements doesn’t really mean anything in terms of their AA chances.

If I said Fantasia and Tippa had been better than Kozi because a higher percentage of their disposals have been score involvements you’d point out it as stupid I’m sure.
