Fremantle have said they would redraft him as a rookie, but I guess no one else was interested and he wanted to say in Victoria.
Some news just in: Delisted Fremantle player Josh Mellington has withdrawn his nomination for today's PSD and rookie drafts.
He has reached a settlement with Fremantle and will remain in his home state of Victoria next year. He is intending to play in the VFL.
That is as per a statement just sent out by Mellington's management, via the AFLPA.

Who is Michael Wood? Any Subi fans know much about him?
Michael Wood – Subiaco / 186cm / 65kg / ’94
Over age and played fwd at Subiaco this year and who dominated Colts level early with some big hauls and then was very impressive in some of his WAFL performances at senior level. Still very slight but has very good sense as a fwd and moves incredibly well. Leads to good places, good hands, rarely fumbles, and a beaut kick. His issues are body size and to influence games a bit more. Ticks a lot of boxes though and whilst will take time could be very good. Wonder if clubs might see him playing up the ground on a wing which would give him more draft scope.

Why didn't we choose Cain a ready made player who could help our mids if needed.
