Wasted years (much like the Howard years at a Federal level at the same time, without the actively shooting ourselves in the foot part).

Good result for the club from my perspective.

While I agree it made sense to reset geographically with the new station in North and the existing one in West Melbourne which has grown significantly.

This now gives the area a much bigger scale North Melbourne identity and potential catchment.

I wanted Arden so happy days.

it's because the Labor party, at least nationally is basically just an establishment protection machine. they'll probably never win another election because it's functionally impossible for them to be anything other than poorly calculated centrists who appeal to no one by trying to appeal to everyone. generation after generation we see young radicals eventually beaten into weak, milquetoast centrists by this machine. it's kind of a miracle that we got someone as far to the left as Andrews at all, and in a sensible system he'd be on the right. Thank god the state libs are so bad at politics.

Luckily for the first time ever we've actually got a dedicated gov relations person on the board now.

They'd have Labor-aligned firms like Hawker Britton for dealing with Labor government and someone like Barton Deakin for dealing with Coalition govts.

We simply cannot afford that luxury, so have to use what we've always relied - the smarts and skills of our base.
