Arden St will remain our permanent home.

Spectator seating is a part of the plans long term. Ideally a couple of additional grandstands.

Permanent food and drink selling amenities will be incorporated.

Second oval.

The 40,000 additional residents of the precinct will require further recreational facilities.

Talking to admin staff, the idea of a cafe that has long been demanded around here is not universally welcomed by all employees at the club. Currently, they have coffee and tea amenities provided but they are aware that at some other clubs, once a cafe goes in, the staff lose access to kitchen facilities and are expected to pay for coffee and tea.

Do you have a kitchen at your work where you can get yourself a coffee?
Yep.

Also worked at many that don't. But again, **** the patrons because these poor people can't handle not having a free coffee.

And also, **** the staff because the 3 patrons who turn up to watch training twice a year can't be arsed getting their latte on the way in but expect the costs of a full time cafe to be underwritten by the staff. And if the staff weren't paying to keep the lights on, then each cup of coffee would probably have to cost $500 for the 3 patrons turning up to watch training.

I’ve never seen the appeal of a proper cafe at Arden St. As long as there are consistently food trucks around for the VFL/AFLW games I.e the times when people are actually around - that should be perfectly fine.

Something I’ve wondered about: is there any on site catering for players? After training lunches, that sort of thing? Do any clubs do that?

Plenty of people use the ground during the week that aren't affiliated with the club alongside the hall etc. Having someone run an onside Cafe with 1-2 staff still could be profitable.
Heck team it up with the huddle and run hospitality programs with the disadvantaged kids that attend.

What patrons?
Every time I have been in the club (not including game days obviously) there has been plenty of people there. Certainly more than the 3 people twice a year ol mate Colby suggested. It's also not just the NMFC that use these buildings.

A kettle takes up not much space. They can still have a coffee spot if they want. If they want the fancy ones then they can pay for it. Just like most workplaces.

I'm there pretty much weekly and there is **** all people around.

I also know the club have run the numbers and it doesn't ads up.

It's a BigFooty meme is all.

Yes there is catering for players. They have balanced meals cooked for them post training etc.
