yep, pretty disgraceful.

lost count of the amount of times I heard him groan after an essendon turnover/mistake.

he wasn't even trying to disguise it.

:thumbsu:

Probably why they relegate him to the boundary.

I've never heard barracking as blatant as his efforts today...terrible.

Tim Watson is definitely taking it up to him.

He may have been a little too biased. But his comments regarding the poor umpiring was spot on. The deliberate out-of-bounds rule and the holding the ball rule are fundamentally flawed and such interpretations adversely affect the quality of the game.

Roos has disappointed me immensely since finishing his coaching career and shown that he will struggle to be just a normal punter.
The first and most disturbing example was his disgraceful effort to justify running onto the ground of a junior football match to confront opposition players, in his role as a junior coach. Then to arrogantly deny he'd done anything wrong only to backtrack when threatened with suspension by the junior league.
For a football person that I held in the highest esteem for the way he played and coached at the highest level, his transition to commentator and certainly junior football coach is nothing short of underwhelming.

He didn't run onto the ground in order to confront the kid. He went to his player who was down behind play. When the teams had stopped he went over to the other side. Still a completely stupid thing to do, but he didn't storm onto the ground with a confrontation as his first action.

That was so disgusting to watch. Not only does he miss every Essendon free kick but when a Sydney player is caught holding the ball with 4 minutes to go what do we hear? Paul Roo's disgustingly say he didn't have it.

But if that wasn't enough for him, on top of constantly adding y to everyone's name, he decided to scream OH NOOOOO when Goodes went to play on with 11 seconds to go.

He needs to be fired immediately.

I think he echoed what a lot of neutrals were thinking at home - no biggie. He's an ex coach trying to slot into a different type of professionalism...will take a little while to change you'd think.
How long has it been since Timmy Watson last coached or played?

Everyone's aware that commentators making remarks like "Oh no!" as well comments about how unfortunate a miss or a mistake was is quite common, yeah?

Yeah but not a lot of commentators nearly jump out of the box doing it. NO NO NO!

i also think the others in the box said no as well.

bias is scorned when your team is not favoured by the comments.
largely ignored when your team is in favour

Neither did Roos. I can concede Roos does focus his commentary on the Swans and that would grate for other supporters, but as I said earlier, now people are blowing up and looking for the smallest remark. This whole thread was started by a supporter who was mad about a comment that Roos didn't even make.

i thought roos did yell no.

I enjoy the insight Roos is able to provide about Swans recruiting / players etc.
So what if he still likes his old team, it's not a crime , the guy is human, wow!
Some people have a whinge about anything!

yep spot on really . he was horrible last night . bad night from the umpires too , but a cracking game ... atmosphere would have incredible !
