I felt the same briefly but, even though he is emotional and very shy, he had things he wanted to say about his teammates and to his family. And it's good for everyone to get a glimpse of the man he is.

Clarke made a few mistakes early and then looked as though he got comfortable with the pace and intensity as the game wore on. Fantastic signs!

Froggy 2 goals, and that chase down tackle in the defensive 50. Started in the middle and that's his spot.

Structures got pissed up out the window and then shat on in the first quarter.
Swallow on the pine, ziebell to full forward, wells cunners frog in the guts and Lindsay flying through off the back flank. Hopefully brad learns that that 15 minutes is what refreshes blokes and supporters.

Jed is slowly building. His disposal is still a touch suspect forward of centre but the effort to smash in at greenwood, his tackling pressure and that contest he blitz through the middle are all signs his confidence is growing. Hope he can walk in wellsys footsteps for the next 18 months. Seems to really love the club

Whilst wellsys was electric in the first (6 clearances), it helped that cunners and goldy were up and about. You could tell for the majority of the third and fourth quarters that cunners and wellsy were struggling and that's when swallow and ziebell went into grind out the contests, as soon as frogs goaled we had absorbed all their pressure and the gates opened up.

The flexibility was promising/refreshing.

I've seen enough to make the following observations:

- Dal Santo: deserves a 1 year contract, hasn't been his brilliant best, but he finds the ball and we are better for it.

- Wells: need his body fit and firing as he makes a huge difference

- Clarke: Has a bright future, quick, confident, always uses the ball with intent. Seems like a nice weaver and mover.

- Cunnington: We all agree he's down on last year, but he's been making a lot of silly decisions with ball in hand

- Ziebell: Sorry, but he's better as a forward. He's a great mark for his size and really would like him spending at least 40% of the game up forward.

- Mullet / McKenzie: Sorry, seen enough to say thanks for your efforts but goodbye for 2017.

- Swallow - what's wrong with him this season? Playing like a bit of a plodder. Down in form or sore?

- Thomas: Passion. Love for the jumper.

- Petrie. Finally - a plan B - move around, lay some Mongrel tackles, push up the wing, go down back. Much better mobile and not sitting in the Sqaure.

- Brown: My favourite player. Just needs to find a little bit more but god damn I love his hands and effort.

- Daw: Sorry guys, we saw in the 2nd quarter as a forward he has NO awareness. MUST play rotations in ruck / ruck rover / bench. Why doesn't Brad Scott tell him to give us those crazy leaps and tap outs we saw.

- Anderson: Did a few nice things in congestion. BUT Wow, some really poor moments. Skills were terrible. He did chase but no tackles inside 50.

- Firitto: Proved me wrong. I think he deserves a one year contract. His 1%ers, second efforts, spoils, contests, were terrific. I was pleased.

- Goldstein: We all know he's sore / carrying a knock and he was just as poor in the first 3/4. Didn't have a kick for a long time. Less than happy. Just play Majak in ruck / drew rotating. Fix him up

Finding the pill isnt the problem. Its his disposal and then his absolute lack of pace to run back defensively to chip out on the defensive end.

He wont be best 22 next year imo, and he wont want to play reserves. Never has liked going down a level, and imo he'd probably rather walk then drop to the magoos.
