Its the west (coast) Australian, get it right! lolRound 3 - when the WCE allegedly have the premiership in the bag, and from the back page of the West has a headline, Eagles front and centre...
The West Australian - Eagles lose, Dockers win - headlines around the world..., real news....? we can't make much of the Dockers win, or much of the Eagles loss...?
So funny - the West is the shit, most crap paper in Australia - all AFL until the Eagles lose and the Dockers win, fickle shite.
Yup. Ross is notoriously loyal to his players, but I don't really see him as the type who would let the tail wag the dog. Interesting if true.
As I said in another thread - it wasn't that we played the youth, its that we finally made a number underperforming player accountable for their lack of form. Dawson, Suban, Sutcliffe had not played good footy for years, while Pearce's form was only ever patchy at best, and they all got games ahead of others who may have had something to prove. With "play da yoof".
When you get your first chance, you really have to take the bull by the horns. But 4 of the 6 inclusions are 21+ Grey, Sheridan, Crozier, Hughes... Sheridan has long been derided for his work, Crozier started to show us something as a defender last year, but prior to that was universally criticised for going missing in games, Grey, with the limited opportunities (due to injury) didn't set the world on fire in his limited game time - nor did Hughes.
They played out of their skins yesterday, but also were bigger bodied and impressive for their tackling as a consequence. Knew the game plan and where to go, weren't dazzled in the headlights and the skill levels and decision making were also improved. Quite a contrast to the last few years that they've given us.
I say this not to take anything from the game that Logue, Balic played, they were great games, they showed us a glimpse of what they could become, courageous and did some great things, both not overawed by the big stage - but crikey the inexperience showed in instances. Good debut games, but they have a lot to work on (as do most of the squad).
Anyways, my point is, we played 2 yoof, the world is making out like we played an army of them.
How would he know unless Ross is leaking against the club?According to Nick Dal Santo's sources, it wasn't just the players who overruled Ross about the playing the kids. It was the staff as well. (On SEN now)
How would he know unless Ross is leaking against the club?
Who?By speaking to members of the playing group.
Why?Who?
Who would Dal Santo more likely be in communication with? Why?
Who would Dal Santo more likely be in communication with?
His former coach or ...?.

This 'Ross is a master who is never wrong' narrative is amusing, especially the shoehorning of facts to fit it.
Dawson?
Who are his contemporaries? He's a former player.Far more likely he spoke to his contemporaries amongst the playing group. It's not a violation of the players' integrity for them to set the record straight by speaking to Dal in defence of their coach. Conversely, Ross is not so weak that he has to go blabbing to journalists. Get a grip.
"Yeah Dal, Lyon wanted to dump me for years but Rosich and Fyfe conspired against him".Dawson?
Yes, but I have issue with people claiming that this was part of Lyon's plan all along. It is the same level of delusion that as we slowly stagnated in late 2015 that Lyon had an ace up his sleeve that he was saving for finals. It didn't happen - he is not some svengali in complete control of his destiny and he is prone to making mistakes, huge ones at that. Just like any other coach. Even Clarkson.Who cares, we played them and we won. Onwards and upwards.
I don't live in the past!
Management of personalities sometimes means letting them drive the metaphorical bus into the metaphorical wall occasionally, so they know they shouldn't be driving.

It is amusing, as is the "Ross is an idiot who has finally been found out" narrative.Who would Dal Santo more likely be in communication with?

Another win or two should have us back to talking about footyHow about we all take a few days break on the Ross debate and just enjoy an amazing win?
I don't see anyone saying he's an idiot. It is amusing, as is the "Ross is an idiot who has finally been found out" narrative.
