How about we say that you're more likely to agree with the prevailing opinion of your peer group than the opinion you are less exposed to.

He'll stay. What I'm liking is the heat is really being put on him. Probably the first time he's coaching for his career. This is the hardest position he's ever been in and he has to coach his arse off and he knows it.
The strongest bonds are forged in fire.
I think it's going to be great watch.
Maybe 1st 10 rounds of next year.
This year, not so much.
 
I was back in WA recently and noticed how a lot of the Perth media perpetuates the hangup of comparing the west coast to the east. Then I thought about how west coast winning premierships is the ultimate, in a footy mad state, FU to the east coast/VFL faction and I understood why the WA media is so pro WCE. So they’re never going to be with us until we win a flag because the WA media has a huge inferiority complex and it only does so because the state has one.

Which means exactly what I said but thanks Captain Obvious. We all have an influence over who we choose as our peer group.

I'm pretty sick of people who support Ross claiming some kind of superiority.

Either morally or intellectually.

Sorry, this is only partially aimed at you. It is, however, truly tiring to have a critical post responded to with “Freagle, WC supporter” etc. I don’t think anyone’s support should be called into question unless there is a strong basis for it. Multiple hits for dual-logins with a WC account? Absolutely, good basis. Being negative of the club? Not even in the ballpark. I don’t understand why you seek to encourage this behaviour?

On your other comments: Sure there have been challenges and external forces, and I don’t believe the coach nor club has navigated them as well as they could have.

The IP match isn't the only way the system can generate a match report. And there is another Eagles poster using their Freo account.

I'd beg to disagree on this one.

I'm in Melbourne, had doubts about Ross when we first appointed him and those doubts have very much returned (not because of some media manipulation) but because of the evidence before me in terms of on the field.
 
I think Ross has been great for our club & am forever grateful. But his time is up. We kept players for too long. Got rid of players we should of kept. Gambled with high risk_reward players.
The forward line has never worked with him here. He hasn't brought along assistant coaches. They have just stagnated.

But that loss to west coast was too much.
The players showed no passion.
There was no inspiration from Ross. No apology afterwards.

He looks really tired. Bit like woosha before he was moved on..
I wouldn't be an afl coach for a million dollars .

A million a season is what they get some more . But it is a tough gig no doubt.
 
I can't believe there are people on here who don't like this thread , where else can you get a psych evaluation , fail an IQ test and have your moral character questioned all in the space of 2 pages of posting for the horrendous crime of thinking a footy coach sux

I can't believe the amount of people that fall for the rubbish that the Media put out. It's pretty simple. All of these 'claims' and 'hearsay' and 'might' and 'could' are just that RUBBISH.
The media just stirs the pot, it's really not worth getting your pants on fire about.
I don't know how Ross or other coaches don't throw the mic at some of these reporters..
 
I am not firmly in the sack Ross camp , If you speak to ex players or players that have been coached by him they are full of praise for him . If you look at his time at ST Kilda he with a bit of luck could have been a dual premiership coach.Is Worsfold a great coach? not by my reckoning but he won a flag by the bearest of margins in 2006 . He had some luck go his way in the final moments . Last year Simpson again West coast(i rate him higher than Worsfold)5 points could have easily gone the other way if the blatant block to the Collingwood defender gets paid free kick the other way no Sheed heroics .We only remember who won it not the bad luck stories . Truth if Ross had have had the better luck in those two grand finals there is no way he comes to Freo , He would have been at the Sainters for Sheedy type years.I will close with a Rossism "you write your own story"

Gotta double like this

Worsfold inherited Judd Cousins Kerr and others who could run the midfield. Without even one of them he'd have no premiership.

Ross doesn't have a great list. He's got a decent one with injuries to key players and not much depth. When Freo had all or most players they were looking at finals. It takes a real dumb **** not to see this.

Oh well. We cater for all sorts on this forum

No doubt in some cases & I thought the same when I first heard about Lachie Neale wanting to go to Brisbane.
Some media (not mentioning any names Haggers) are absolute bottom feeders, but players talk to family & friends who then speak to other friends, but don’t tell anyone is mentioned but ignored & eventually the bottom feeders sniff it out.
Some are rubbish, but not all & that’s why we talk about it.
