If there is no worthy player list and player ability, there is no magic wand that gives us wins - which is what this sacking before the season has finished implies.

I sincerely wish the new incumbent the best, but if the club doesn't provide a suitable list that can get on the park, they are as doomed to underperform the same as Ross has.

Get whatever coach you want UNTIL we get our drafting and list management up to the top echelon of the comp(and no not thereabouts or throw hands up in air saying hindsight’s easy ) -the top echelon! , we ll forever be mediocre

Fremantle Football Club President Dale Alcock said the Board had a duty to act in the best interests of its members and supporters, and to be bold in making its strategic decisions.

“As a result, the Fremantle Football Club board has decided that the Club requires a new coach and new CEO for the 2020 season and beyond,” Mr Alcock said.

“Leadership change is necessary to begin the process of renewal and to set our course for the next 10 years.

"Fremantle had not made the finals for the past four years. This isn’t acceptable to the Board, the players, and most importantly to our supporters. We need high performance and consistency at all levels of the club, so we need to change and evolve.”

They may already have one but have to go through the ''process''

We could be a real threat next year with an attacking game plan.. we have some weapons

100% Bell and the board have someone in mind (Justin)

The best 22-25 is pretty good, even without Hills and Langdon. Just no depth, as we’re currently experiencing.

Defensively we’re set. Just need to really concentrate on decision making and skills. Then a more attacking game plan to utilize Lobb Hogan Taberner.

the timing of the sacking seems to indicate we have someone lined up & wanted to lock him in before another team could.
if no new coach is announced before the weekend, I'm going with Ratten.
i reckon maybe we have swept in & offered him the role, & he can't be announced as he has one more game with the Saints.
Wouldn't it be hilarious to pinch their coach again? :p
prediction: Ratten to Freo, Lyon to Eseendon & Worsfold to the WA media.
then the Saints can get Brad Scott :D

Change required.

Ross is a brilliant coach knows how to work with players (and why they love him). But it has to be broader other considerations including player retention, coaching assistants, HR issues from earlier this year must have been assessed.

Not knowing what’s going on inside the walls for sure, the fact that Neale, Weller, Hill (x2) Langdon and 2 confirmed player agents stating (Tim Kelly and Shane Kersten) they did not want to deal with and/or stay at the club is a serious concern.

Fresh broom and clean out bond, rosich and Lyon all gone time for a new generation. Unfortunately this will mean a few years of rebuild with other (Lyon supprters) likely to leave.

And if all the KPF's are out injured and the half backs drop like flies with them? We won't be a threat if that happens - it will be the same shit, different coach.

Anyone thinking we will employ someone other than Longmuir is kidding themselves.

Zero chance we go with any recycled types - Ratten, Voss etc.

Longmuir with Sumich involved as Senior Assistant or a football department role.
