Lookout Bigfooty. The excuse train is pulling out of BF station!

Who are Adelaide missing from their best 22?

Hawks will be without Mitchell, Scully, Wingard and Birchall. Likely to be replaced by Cousins, Scrimshaw, Moore and Morrison respectively. If you take out any teams top players and they would struggle too.

Having said that Hawthorn do have a very good record against the Crows in Adelaide so I wouldn’t be shocked if they win.

So 2 guys that haven’t even played for you yet are going to be your downfall? Wow

You can’t replace a Brownlow medalist and an All-Australian small forward with a VFL player and expect to get the same output.

Crows by 69.

Didn’t you guys flog us last year and the only 2 players missing from that team will be Mitchell and Burton

Carlton vs Richmond Thursday 21st MCG
Collingwood vs Geelong Friday 22nd MCG

Saturday March 23

Melbourne vs Port Adelaide MCG
Adelaide vs Hawthorn Adelaide Oval
Bulldogs vs Sydney Marvel
Brisbane vs West Coast GABBA

Sunday March 24

St.Kilda vs Gold Coast Marvel
GWS vs Essendon Showground
Fremantle vs North Optus

Could West Coast get rolled in round 1? They will be missing several players. Their team is stacked however. Could be a banana skin game for them as the Lions were competitive in many fixtures last year, especially at the GABBA. The Eagles did beat them there convincingly in the last home and away fixture last year, missing a host of players to secure top 2. The Lions could be on the up in season 2019. Whoever wins it's just one beautiful story that will unfold in a cracking opening round in what hopefully is an amazing season.

Richmond hellbent to make amends. The MCG will explode on that Thursday Night with a feirce Tiger Roar.
Pies vs Cats, an awesome way to kick off Friday night football at the G. Collingwood burning from 2018 up against a side that didn't fire in the Cats despite their Rolls Royce midfield.
The Dees, another side to look out for against Port that dropped off bad at the end of the season missing finals.

Adelaide getting a healthy list looking to also redeem itself after a huge let down last year against Hawthorn who've recruited well but are missing their best player and Brownlow medallist. Will Sydney and Buddy go another year playing finals? How do the Bulldogs respond after two sub-par years after winning the Granny?

The Saints have a golden opportunity to get a win in round 1 and start their campaign in fine fashion.

GWS vs Essendon - A titanic clash straight off the bat.

How do Freo go at home with some serious fire power added up forward? North are a team that many predict will play finals in 2019.

Pies vs Cats is mesmerising.

Awesome round to open 2019.

mark my words, the teams who have dominant midfields and gun forward lines will excel this year

Carlton vs Richmond: Closer than I think people assume it will be, but Richmond by 17

Collingwood vs Geelong: Ablett in forward doesn't work out, Collingwood by 34

Melbourne vs Port: Dominate showing from the Demons, Melbourne by 51

Adelaide vs the Box Hill Hawks: Adelaide should surely win this, Adelaide by 22

Bulldogs vs Sydney: I personally think Bulldogs are in for a good year but this will be close, Bulldogs by 7

Brisbane vs West Coast: They're premiers, so I'd put a real safe bet on the Eagles, Eagles by 28

St Kilda vs Gold Coast: Saints have a few mental and physical injuries, GC by 10

GWS vs Essendon: GWS at Showgrounds is always fun to watch, GWS by 20

Fremantle vs North: If Tarrant's out then I think Freo take this, their defence would consist of a lot of young experienced blokes vs Hogan, Lobb and Tabs. Freo by 24 (Assuming that Tarrant is out)

I personally think Freo are a lock for the win. North's defence is barren due to injury, so I think Freo will dominate up forward which should be the ultimate decider here

Predictions:
Carlton vs Richmond - Tigers
Collingwood vs Geelong - Pies
Melbourne vs Port Adelaide - Dees
Adelaide vs Hawthorn - Crows
Bulldogs vs Sydney - Swans
Brisbane vs West Coast
GWS vs Essendon - GWS
Fremantle vs North - North

Bold predictions:
St.Kilda vs Gold Coast - GCS
Rankine pips Walsh to Rd.1 Rising Star nom
7 forwards kick 5+ goals

Love how you include Scully in your outs, think you might be able to use that one for a while.
