Someone had too much during the game.

Ginbey, Chesser, Hewett and Culley in the middle?

Lol.

How many 100 point fl9ggings do you want to watch?

What are you on if you can't see multiple 100 point floggings coming up if we keep dishing up that crap. 3rd loss in a row to probably one of the worst football sides going around since our inception.

Anyway what measure of success is that?

Simpson should install one of these down at Lathlain, just needs to add "by 100 points" at the end...

It's going to get a workout in rounds 3 through 8.

People need to remember with Gaff our gameplan has not been fast ball movement by hand until this season. We mentioned it last year but didnt have thecattle to implement a new style.

So criticising Gaff for playing the game plan the coach has demanded until now is unfair IMO. And that style will be hard to change straight away after years of careful ball movement and switching play across half back becomes second nature. Plus you cant go fast and hard every single time if players arent set up in support.

So lets give Gaff and others a little bit of time to fully embrace the new game plan, it wont become second nature to all of the players until we've built the experience and most importantly..............the SYNERGY!;):thumbsu:
Yeah Synergy bro!
You’re all over it!

Ginbey will be a monster for you guys.

Shades of a young Cripps imo.

Lots to look forward to.
Do you come in peace?

Cheezel was superb. He’s the real deal.
Cunnington coming back and nailing it was also nice - well it would’ve been if it wasn’t against us

Wardlaw will be a hell of an addition.

Best of luck for the season

He's trained harder and impressed more.

Also feel this is a good call on several levels.

We have two Vic Country kids debuting in their home state which is great for them and their families.

This will sting a bit for Hewett and hopefully gets him to another level. He's a cocky kid so not getting a round 1 debut will check the ego a tad.

Hewett can debut at Optus later when he's earned it and built his endurance level.

The tactical sub could be Hewett's way in early this year if he is lacking endurance. He's certainly an impact player.
Mate the real sting came for West Coast!
Can you tell me again how the game isn’t won with midfield clearances?

The clearance stats are what we need to fix, if you’re losing the clearances you’re 9/10 times losing the game.
Don’t let any numpty on this forum tell you any different.
Hewett is the best Clearance player we’ve drafted in a long time, get him in the guts FFS!
Attached are the clearance stats from the game.

As simple as it is unpleasant to understand, we didn't deserve to win that game.

Too many brain farts.
Too much fumbling.
Too many unforced errors.
Too much poor decision making.
To f****** slow as a collective.

Some very likeable signs from Ginbey and Long.
Good to have Oscar back.
Ryan looked very switched on.
Hunt and his pace will help us.

Same old same old, hard to win a game ( even against the winner of last two seasons wooden spoons ) when the side doesn't put in for four quarters.

The new game plan was very well hidden because I didn't spot it.

Going to be a long season, as others have rightfully said.

We now have first fingers touching the Harley Reid Cup.
Always enjoy your thoughts Monocle. Going to be another enjoyable year for us Eagle draft enthusiasts for obvious reasons

Agree about our fumbling and unforced errors really stood out at important times our lack of composure with our heads over the ball and ball in hand.

I did feel there were moments where we really tried to move the ball quicker, and directly forward particularly a couple of moments in the first quarter. Not enough of it however.
Feel Hough is a likely replacement for Chesser. Chesser probably needs a bit of time in WAFL just getting game time and confidence with ball in hand.
Yeo in when ready will be handy because we got smashed again in contested ball but unfortunately he’s just not getting ready enough these days.
Do you think we will see Barnett this year? Williams and Jamo are struggling and while I’ve think Jamo has upside I’m not sure it may be enough and maybe we just jump to the next cab off the rank in Barnett.
Hopefully Culley and Hewitt get some opportunities in the midfield too.
We have a generational gap in our midfield from players in there late 20’s + to teenagers. The likes of Barnett,Ginbey, Long, Hewitt, Chesser, Hough and Culley are the start of our next generation but I think we still need to add more genuine A grade talent over the next few years.
