2040.

Decent. A couple of problems. 1 DNP rook (O'Connnor) and Zerrett. Otherwise can't complain too much with that. Hibberd was rubbish. Every other premo / mid-pricer did fine.

1984. Ominous score.

Given Merrett, Weitering, Rayner, Venebles, it could have been worse. At least I had Mitchell as captain and Taranto was a good POD.

Could have gone for 2069 with better rookie on-field selection.

What trades are people looking at?

Fortunately I held back some cash, so:

If Merrett back next week:
Weitering -> Laird or Simpson
Swap out an underperforming rookie for a good one like Doedee.

If Merrett only misses one week:
Brayshaw -> Gibbs or similar premo
Weitering -> Doedee

If Merrett will miss a few:
Merrett -> Gibbs or similar
Weitering -> Doedee

Hm, might just do Weitering -> Doedee regardless then bring in the best player I can for one of Rayner or Venebles - perhaps swing Sicily forward and bring in Laird or Simpson.

Not many of my mid premos went really big (only Titch and Parker went above 120). Expected more given I dodged Zerrett. Actually scored like 50 points more in RDT, where I actually had Zerrett. Seems like NicNat was the right choice to start this week so might look to downgrade Sauce and get in a def premo like Simpson, or get in Buddy (think he will go huge again against port next week)

2056 all out.

Don't have any must trades, fortunately. I have good bench rookies who can replace the dud on field rookies so can give some another chance. Redden, JPK, Lycett and Impey and the non rooks that disappointed me the most. Will have to think on them.

2168 absolutely filthy at weitering naughton rayner and brayshaw tho. will be getting rid of weitering but not sure about the other 3

2258. Best start to a season I've had in a while. Started the wrong rookies in MIDs - Brayshaw Banfield instead of Barry & Holman.

DEF - Naughton has job security, but is Z.Guthrie a better option? Maybe hold until Coffield debuts...

MID - Kelly looks likely, should I cut Brayshaw so soon?

FWD - English can he do that more often? Docked his PB.

RUC - Sandilands did what's expected and NicNat exploded, limited game time still a concern.

2111, pretty rough start to the year. Zerrett, Hibberd and Rayner on field the main let downs. Looks as though a lot of people copped worse though so I shouldn't complain :sweatsmile:

2097
Good: Laird, Simpson, Sicily, Doodee, Titch, Dusty, Kelly (Josh and Tim), Holman, Gawn, Billings, Heeney, Smith, Fritsch, Bary, English,
Bad: O'Connor, Merrett, Rockcliff, Brayshaw, Jacobs, Venables
Meh: Naughton, Murray, Christensen, Ryan, Finlayson, Banfield, Langdon,
i wish i had Jack Graham :(

Can't say I saw this coming but after the worst start I can ever recall having (I was @ 199/4 with Lambert, Weitering, Zerrett, and Devon Smith), I am actually feeling a bit better about things. Finished on 2049. Cogs helped quite a bit. So not great, but not as season-endingly bad as I assumed either (hopefully).

Missed out on more than 100 points by having higher scoring rooks on the pine, so that sucked. Going on previous years, I will inevitably make the wrong decision next week too. (I had Holman benched and Andrew Brayshaw on field, but I feel like I need to hold there? Thoughts? Picked Murphy over Doedee though, and I think that's an easy switch to Doedee. Right?)

Interested to see how many of you all ended up with NN too. I did. Was definitely put off by the staunch "no way"s coming from The Traders, but once English was named there was an easy R3 (Preuss: The Sequel) and it just seemed like a no-brainer to me. But I suspect there are more NN owners here than the pre-season talk would have indicated.

2176 with Zerrett, Rayner and Brayshaw on field. Holman on the pine hurt but I got lucky with Doedee as my emergency for O'Connor. In saying that now O'Connor might not play next week and Venables on my forwards bench was shit so I might be down 2 bench spots already (along with Darcy Cameron).

A couple of players I was happy with were Bonner and Gibbs.

Zorko (57), Rocky (52), Trengove (31), Florent (24), McLean (68)

Who's first?

Looking forward to 2019

Rocky and Trengove probably. I don't think Florent is someone you want to keep around either, but as long as he's not immediately dropped he can definitely do better than 24 and fix his value up a bit. McLean I expect to rebound some, and surely that's Zorko's floor too?

Rocky is a tough one. We don't really know that he won't get back to his normal levels once he's a bit more acclimated to Port, so there's definitely a sell-low (and then maybe re-buy-high) risk there. Since you already committed to him, you need to figure out what the time horizon looks like. If he's pumping out 110s in three weeks, you just need to endure a couple more down rounds, I think. But if we're talking months, well, yeah, cut your losses.

Trengove I don't know enough/didn't see enough to comment. So, you know, trade him. ;) (I guess my main point is actually that you shouldn't just trade anyone in such a reactionary fashion. Don't sell low.)
