The D.pearce conundrum....... gets into space, gets the ball.... how is this so ?

I see, yes - the ...ken opposition don’t man him up or play a direct opponent because it is a certain turnover when he murders the ball.
Quite simple really match committee, he wasn’t able to play his way back in last year after getting dropped, let’s hope he’s played his way out again.
I agree it's like the opposition have an extra player, better not be playing next week.

Despite having a back-line littered with slow duds who are amplifying the damage we've improved in a bunch of areas so far- especially from R1 last year. If our midfield lifts in the 2nd half we're in this until the end. We got unlucky and fell short on a few scoring opportunities - at least 2 goals extra we could of had and this game doesn't look so bad.

Neale and Matera really good so far. Brayshaw clean and Banfield involved.

Darcy Tucker is a weapon when he is on, need the ball in his hands, he hits targets forward of centre

Fumbles all over by the boys today, how bout we run the ball forward instead of kicking to 15 out form 70 every time?

Fyfe needs to stay in the midfield if we have any chance of stopping a blowout...we have looked ok when we have been winning the hard ball.

Agree with you there noise, we don’t have the luxury of sending Fyfe forward yet.

How can the match committee not see it with Danyle? He literally has done the same thing for 2+ years. It’s baffling. By all means it’s not his fault we’re losing, but seriously how hard is it to either lower your eyes and hit a short target, or run your full allotment and kick for goal? Dumb footy.

What's new about this ?..... It's the game plan.
They do drills for this . It is called LONG BOMBS to a contest in the forward line.
Stevie Wonder can see it's totally ****ed.

Yeah it's not a complete disaster.
Hard to tell when the mids are getting comprehensively belted

I forgot Tucker was even playing until just before half time.

Built like Tarzan playing like Casper.

Very poor team selection this week Leaving out Hammer and playing Johnno Danyle and Sutty.

Exactly the same as last year. Play the old stagers, get spanked and then be forced, kicking and screaming, to play the young guys.

Can’t help but think we are one KPD short. We are playing +1 behind the ball, Blakely is being forced to defend and Pearce is stuck playing lock down instead of rebounding meaning we are getting nowhere near as much run through the middle as we need.

Forward pressure has been great and we are matching Port for inside 50’s, but the quality has generally been pretty low. Interesting to see how we come out in the second half.

Nice to see some fight at least. It was bound to be a tough test for a team that hasn't played together a lot and that looked like it might get out of hand for a while. Still might but at least they are having a crack.
Its incredibly disappointing team selection though and everything predicted is coming true re the spuds.

I would love to see some down the ground vision when we're moving the ball forward.

Where are our forward moving? Are they moving at all, to the right spots or are the mids just bombing it

That’s the problem with watching the game on TV, you can’t see the structures or positioning with and without the ball.
Next week will be interesting to see live.
