Get in there lads. .. will edit my votes in soon :

Edit: Voting Tips. ..

Scoring will be the same as it was last year. After each week's game, I (or whoever gets here first) will start a votes thread, where you can vote 5-4-3-2-1 for who you thought were our best players that week.

Only votes from Carlton supporters will be counted and of those only votes which follow the 5-4-3-2-1 format (no 5-4-3-2, 5-4-3-2-1/2-1/2 or giving the one player multiple votes, please) will be accepted for consistency.

We'll also have votes for Rookie of the Year. Just nominate the one player each week at the bottom of your post.

So, as an example:
Carlton vs. Richmond
POTY (Player of the year)
5. Judd
4. Murphy
3. Collins
2. Gibbs
1. Simpson

Rookie
Ed Curnow

I'm undecided on the eligibility of the Best Rookie. Last year it was 25 games or under regardless of age, but that means that both Duigan and Laidler are eligible. Thinking of pushing it down to 20 games or less. Thoughts?

Players who might be eligible, pending criteria:
Code:
No.	Player Name Games
31	Davies, Marcus 13
43	White, Simon 12
35 Curnow, Ed 12
42	Tuohy, Zach 11
9 Lucas, Kane 10
10	Watson, Matthew 3
20 O'Keefe, Rhys 1
17 Rowe, Sam 0
7 Buckley, Dylan 0
21 Bootsma, Joshua 0

5 Kreuzer
4 Murphy
3 Armfield
2 Waite
1 Henderson

5 - Marc Murphy - Started slow, as did the team and then just ramped up from there, was a class above by the end
4 - Andrew Carrazzo - Got his own pill and took Cotchin out of the game in the midfield
3 - Matthew Kreuzer - The tractor got a few mentions at the end, the lad is looking like class and its only Round 1
2 - Bryce Gibbs - Was there the whole game, cutting it off in defence and driving it forward, could be the new Mr Consistancy if Murphy wasn't so good. ..
1 - Dennis Armfield - His first half was great and he threw himself into it all game, probably played above his ability

Best Rookie - Ed Curnow - just has that midfield grunt, Tuohy fumbles early probably cost him here. ..

Unlucky. ..
Betts
Hampson
Laidler
Thornton
Bower

5 - Murph
4 - Gibbs
3 - Kreuzer
2 - Laidler
1 - Hampson

BYP: Curnow

apologies to Armfield Waite betts yarran simpson and Henderson. Too many to choose from.

5. Carrazzo - You seriously forget how valuable to the team this man is until game day.
4. Kreuzer - Absolute weapon.
3. Armfield - Clean with the football all night, ran hard and fast and hit the scoreboard.
2. Murphy - Worked into the game beautifully.
1. Hampson - Where are the peanuts who keeping knocking him now?

Bower, Laidler, Gibbs, Scotland, Simpson, Yarran unlucky.

5 Kruezer
4 Gibbs
3 Carrazzo
2 Murphy
1 Simpson

Honourable mentions to Henderson, Armfield, Hampson, Yarran, Bower, Judd, Laidler.

Touhy looked great in the first half and Lucas looked really good when he came on.

Going to be really hard to fit all of Walker, Warnock, Jamo and Duigan back in

EDIT: Somehow forgot Carrazzo.

Our defence is where we won it tonIght, I think, so it's going to be the main focus of my votes:
5 - bower: great to have the big fella back in form
4 - carrazzo
3 - Henderson
2 - Murphy
1 - Kreuzer - work rate. work rate. work rate.

5. Murphy - Just so effective with the ball, finished the game great.
4. Carrazzo - Took Cotchin out of the game at the right time.
3. Gibbs - Played the whole game well, set up a lot of good plays.
2. Kreuzer - Great return from injury, ruck taps could have been better at times but he well and truly made up for it with his roving which is why we love him.
1. Simpson - Started well, would have been down by a lot more at quarter time if not for Simmo.

Honorable mentions to Hampson, Henderson and Yarran.

5. Kreuzer - just sensational, in the ruck, around the ground, such a huge presence.
4. Murphy - after a slow start, ended up the dominant midfielder of the game.
3. Carrazzo - a 4 quarter performance.
2. Yarran - there is not enough superlatives to describe Yazz.
1. Laidler - an absolute rock in defence all night.

BYP - Curnow - after taking a little while to pick up the pace of the game, his in & under work was very important as the game went on.

A particularly even outing...

5. Gibbs - not big numbers, but they all counted. A telling game.

4. Murphy - Worked his way into the game, blew numerous would be followers off.

3. Carazzo - shut Cotchin down (despite the two quick goals) and impacted the other way.

2. Kreuzer - would happily take that game every week. Brutish, no frills game.

1. Bower - Could have easily been ranked higher. Paul showed great defensive ability and a disciplined side many would have doubted. A game high (with Laidler) 11 1%ers - five more than any Ricchmond player.
